Hello Everyone! My name is Jill and I live in Illinois. I am a mother of three - ages 21, 15, & 13. I have been divorced for 7 years. Over the last year I have worked hard on myself internally and have a better outlook on life than I ever have before. I'm finally more confident, happy, and ready for any challenge. I look forward to chatting with you!

Howdy!

I'm single with 2 kids (girl-13, boy-11). I have been married and divorced twice, single since 2004. I live in Washington state and work some real crazy hours (2 graveyards, 2 days, & 1 swing shift every week). My kids are being very supportive with my decision to join SparkPeople and are even trying some of the new menu plans with me.

My long term goal is a weight loss of 200 lbs. Right now my physical health/strength limits my ability to excercise, but I'm finding lots of little things to boost my activity level.

Good luck to everyone and congrats to your successes so far.

JC

Hi everyone!

My name is Tammy and I am a 37 year old divorced mom of two girls, ages 15 and 10. I live in New York, was married for 15 years, divorced since 2006.
My goal is to ultimately lose around 120 lbs. I started my new healthy lifestyle on January 7,2008, so I am a complete newbie. I only started this site itself yesterday, and am glad as heck to see this board!

Hello there! My husband just left me for the second and LAST time. All I can think about this time is...thank GOD!!! I did all ( or at least most) of my greiving a few months ago when he first walked out. Now that he has done it again, I am feeling actually excited about the future. I did all I could to make a happy life for us and our kids ( my three and his three), but now that its just me and mine...I can put all that energy into taking care of ...ME! Yeah!

Hi, my name is Jen and I am a 31 y/o single mom of a wonderful 6 y/o boy. I have never been married, and I feel like I have missed out on somethings. All of my friends are married and I am tired of being the left over wheel. I just joined sparks today and am a little unsure of how this will work. But I am willing to try because I am not going to be productive until I feel good about myself. I do work 3rd shift so that does add some issues with eating right and sleeping good. But mostly I just need to be around people that understand what it is like being "alone" raising your child(ren). And losing weight is a great way to feel more energized and happier with yourself. So, please, any ideas, tips, support, or anything you can give, let me know! Thank you for having this team and for being good enough to share a bit of yourselves with other!

Congratulations on your weight loss! That is a great accomplishment. I myself used to work out every single day after work in the evenings...it's difficult because you just want to get home and relax after work. But I found it very satifying. I only can't now because I go to school at night.

It's addicting...I found myself getting home at 6:30 or 7pm at night and immensly enjoying my dinner, then I would even have enough energy left to do laundry or clean up, etc. You will never sleep as good as you do while your working out!

It won't be that at first, though. Your body has to adapt, so in the beginning you might find yourself extremely exhausted after exercising. Just make sure to start with what is actually very easy; increase little by little as time goes.

Hi everyone, my name is Laura and I am 33. I have been divorced for almost 6 years and I have a 7y daughter. I gained a lot of weight with my pregnancy and then even more in the divorce. I have finally decided that I need to get back in shape. I have lost 104 pounds over the past year but I have quite a ways to go. My daughter has been a tremendous help in helping me eat right, but I have gone as far as I can without exercising and need the motivation to get off my butt at night and workout.

Sometimes you just have to take the leap, and build your wings on the way
down.

Hello Team! I am 33 years old. I have three kids - 14, 7, and 6. I have two dogs and a cat. I own my own house. I have never been married (thank Goodness). Somewhere in the process of gaining all these wonderful things in my life, I seem to have lost my sanity! I just don't know how single moms are supposed to do it all! I spend most of the day at the office in order to make money to pay all the bills. When I get home, I have to fix supper and clean the house. I have to help the kids with their homework and make sure they get their baths. By the time I get them to bed, I am lucky if I have any energy left to exercise! Thankfully, my older son takes care of the other two most nights so I can go for a 40-minute walk with my mother. That is the only ME time I usually have, so I cherish it. Anyway...nice to meet you all.

I know its possible! It starts with believing in yourself. My motto is DREAM-BELIEVE-BECOME, which has worked wonders for me in the past few months. Noone is perfect, we all fudge up...but its what you do then that makes the grade. Do you pick yourself up and et back to it or do you just give up.

I used to be that "give up" person (for too darned long) No more of that nonsense for me though.

This community sounds like the place for me! 35, going through the divorce process. Which is going to take YEARS!!! Everything is such a roller coaster ride. I'd love to be able to have some sense of control over at least one thing in my life. I want to have control over my weight. Think that's possible?

Good morning! I'm also single and mom of two girls ages 2 and 4. I'm a serial dieter and am trying to get a hold of that problem. I've been back on Spark for about 4 days now. So far, I've lost a pound. Better than gaining one, right?

I'm glad to "meet" the 2 of you. We'll get the group going now, right?

Hi.

I am single, 32 year old mom of 4 children between the ages of 1 and 17. I hope this group does get to take off. I thought it was a great idea so joined. I was surprised that there are so few members but every group starts somewhere, right ?

Since starting my healthier lifestyle in May 07, I have lost 31 pounds. Still a long ways from where I want to be but with children it is difficult sometimes to get in those moments to yourself where you can focus on exercise and eating healthy..though I am still trying!

I don't know if this team will take off, but I wanted someplace that was very specific for my age group and my circumstances...

I am 31, divorced with three kids (7 year old son and twin 4 year daughters). I've been divorced for 2 years (married for 7) and currently live with my mom (still trying to get on my feet). I've been with Spark since Jan. 06 and have lost 101 lbs since September 2005. See my sparkpage for more on that story.

I love to have fun, but also have the responsibility of three children. I am not in my 20's anymore (though feel like I missed out on those experiences) and I am not ready to settle down and accept life either. I want to have it all! lol

If you are interested JOIN! We are not alone!
