last year I did everything. I did however get tired of harvesting every other day so my wife took over. What a lovely wife. My oldest doesnt want anything to do with my garden and my youngest was to young to learn anything last year. I just finished my first ever Pinewood Derby Car and it is awesome. I crocheted my wife a scarf a couple years ago. I dont do a whole bunch anymore, but I pick it up when i get bored and work on a blanket I have been planning since I started learning.

Sounds great! My ds is a cub scout and crosses over into Boy Scouts in two months. (It happens to be Pinewood Derby time, but due to the time crunch, we're skipping it this year). The rockets, imo, are a lot more fun. LOL
What do you crochet? I crochet too. I belong to a group at a church and we donate our work. My ds is 9 and has started crocheting a few things. (He's still working on his tension)
Do your kids help you out in your garden? How about your wife?
My dh will sometimes help in my garden, but only when I ask him to do something specific, and he's NOT allowed to pull weeds.

Your Welcome, oh I forgot one thing. You asked about my crafting. I am a Royal Ranger Commander at our Church and we do all different kinds. Right now we are making Pinewood Derby Cars and Rockets. I like to crochet, and build things.

You can try doing what my mother in-law use to do, fill/top them up before they put on a water ban. emoticon It may not always last the ban but may be worth a try.

Rain Barrels would be a great idea if we ever got any considerable amount of rain here in the Texas panhandle. I have thought of it before but its not practical for my area.

Welcome Zach! You may want to check into a rain barrel or two. I'm buying 2 of them this year from our local high school garden club.

thank you for your welcome. I thought I would answer your question that you asked on the other post. I dont know how I was able to grow my vegetables here in Texas. I do however know that I watered them like crazy. At least until the city started restricting our water usage. Anyways, I was just disappointed to see that the other team did not want us posting new threads because they felt like they was to big. Oh well I hope I can make some friends here. emoticon

Hello and welcome. Sorry to hear about what happened on the other team. Seems a bit anal imo.
Glad you found this team.

Howdy y'all from the Texas Panhandle. O.k. o.k. I know its cliche but how else should a Texan say hi, lol? Anyways, my name is Zach, and this will be my second year of growing a vegetable garden. I had some good luck last year and am looking forward to a good year again.

I am married to a wonderful God fearing woman, and we have two awesome boys. Nicholas my stepson, is 16 years old and Asher my newest is 18 months. We attend an Assembly of God church in our town, and we try to put God first in everything we do.

Some of the things I like to do are, play my guitar, teach the Royal Rangers at church, play with my sons, garden, play video games, and crafting. Oh and I have been blogging ever since I joined sparkpeople, come by and read some of my blogs and hear my first Vblog.

Well enough rambling. Talk to you guys later
