Hello Spark Gardeners!
I'm hope to meet team goals, pass along some ideas and learn a lot.
I grew up on a working ranch in the Ozark Mountains. We're zone five / six.
While we raised meat for income, we had a three acre veg patch, strawberry patch, asparagus and sugar cane stands and a 'lower garden' for peanuts and sunflowers. We also raised two kinds of grapes. We raised *almost* everything we ate (not wheat, I'm Celiac, so no biggie there). We used mules and a horse to power farm implements. There was a lot of work, let me say! Our water supply is a mineral spring and our electricity is shoddy.
I've never read a book on gardening, never taken a class and I'm far from expert. I grew up doing things in an old-fashioned way (organically).
