How exciting.. Gave me a couple of ideas for my garden. I would like to include leeks, kale and chard. I have limited space, but I will make do.
I have several varieties of Heirloom tomatoes, peppers, lettuces, spinach, green beans, peas pods, and celery. Can't think of what else right now (oh, asparagus and rhubarb). It is still too early to plant a garden in our area (have the seeds started inside though) but I have some patio pots planted (just keep covering on cold nights). The main one is my salad bowl planter (idea from a fellow gardener). I just harvested my first salad last night. Yummy!
I have never grown berries of any kind before so would be interested in learning more about that. I have two raspberry plants right now to plant. Our neighbor has some growing so may just go and pick his brain on the best way to proceed with them.
Good luck and please report your progress.
p.s... in Iowa we have Seed Savers Exchange near Decorah, Iowa which is dedicated to preserving and selling heirloom plants and seeds. Cool thing about heirloom plants is that if you save the seeds you don't have to buy again. www.seedsavers.org
