I love yogadownloads.com! They have a ton of free twenty minute classes that you can download or stream and, if you like the short class, then you can buy a longer class (30 min, 40 min, 60 min, 90 min, etc) for fairly cheap - $3-5 usually. I keep the downloads on a dropbox account and I can listen to them anywhere my phone has a data connection. Great for vacation workouts!

Yesterday is but a dream, tomorrow but a vision. But today well lived makes every yesterday a dream of happiness, and every tomorrow a vision of hope. Look well, therefore, to this day.

I like to listen to fitness podcasts in the car. Here are two that I particularly like:

www.leighpeele.com
Sensible, no-nonsense, scientifically accurate advice on nutrition and fitness. I LOVE her free podcasts on iTunes. The binge series particularly spoke to me.

thefitcast.com
Free podcasts on iTunes (back to 2009) and going back even further in MP3 format (going back to 2006) thefitcast.com/podcast
Leigh Peele is frequently featured in these. Produced by a personal trainer. Often features a physical therapist, as well. Lots of discussion about lifting, rehab, performance, and nutrition.

Never, ever, EVER give up!

From BMI 53 (336 lbs) to under 30. Now aiming for less than 20% body fat.

Bodybuilding.com-- great site for useful and helpful resources for individuals that are new to working out all the way to pros. They have different programs, free, for people that are looking for a little help on how to start in getting a healthier lifestyle. It's very helpful for both men and women and the goals are also narrowed to gender, what your fitness goal is (fat loss or muscle gain), and once you've chosen that it narrows you down more to which fitness instructor you would like to follow. Each instructor has a weekly plan of work out and meals all the way down to the calories :)

Check it out if you haven't yet! Also, perhaps someone else has a site similar to this they would like to share? There can never be enough great fitness sites!

Hi. I've been reading the messages and am quite interested in learning all I can. I just signed on. Been active on Spark for about 5 weeks now. (LOVE IT) Noticed the topic of sugar. Has anyone ever checked into XYLOSE? Someone told me is in a natural alternative to sugar or artificial sugar substitutes.

Hi Everyone!
Such great information. I can't wait to check them out. One of my favorites isn't actually a website, but a video podcast by Jennifer DiDonato on MadeFitTV at Itunes. She's a Personal Trainer who shares fitness advice, how to videos with weights, cooks favorite recipes, answers email questions and she even showed everyone what she keeps in her pantry and fridge! Shes never asks you to buy a thing, it's just a great podcast for anyone interested in fitness, especially weights.

I am half way through hundredpushups.com , twohundredsitups.com , and twohundredsquats.com I like working towards a goal. I started off with little muscle tone and after only the first week I could feel a great improvement in my arms, abs, and quads.

www.fitclick.com

It designs workouts and lets you track and change them. It has videos to keep you confident in the gym. The site has some flaws, but has been essential in getting me comfortable in my male dominated gym!

Wow, a bunch of GREAT websites! But when will I have time to workout? LOL
It's more than a little overwhelming really, trying to absorb so much info at once. But I really want to do this. I'm not going to be a feeble old lady.

My fave is leanbodiesfitness.com
I have learned pretty much everything I could ever want to know about the science of nutrition, as well as constructing good workouts, there. It is targeted to figure competitors, and has great stories and pics of people going through contest prep.

Thank you for all of this great and helpful information. I appreciate the time each of you put forth to post on this thread. Would like to give a special thanks to the person who posted the info about Chad Waterbury. Went there and read his articles and found them motivating and very hopeful. LOVE his straight forward, be accountable and stop making excuses way! That's the kind of motivation that gets my butt moving!

My new favorite, especially to refer my friends who are searching for gifts for me (since I eschew candy and flowers.....and don't need more dust collectors!)

www.mixmygranola.com/

It's a US based granola mixing company that makes and then prints out the nutritional information based wholly upon what you use as a base and add ins.

Thanks for the great info! One of my most visited sites is www.fatX101.com . There is a 12 day workout plan that I incorporate into my workout routine. I find that it adds a little spark to my routines. Hope you enjoy.

This site isn't specific to training, but for overall health and I think it's worth mentioning:

realage.com

It's free, you take a test regarding your fitness, lifestyle, etc, and it comes up with your biological age which may be more (probably less for most of us) than your calendar age.

There are recommendations for things you can do to improve your biological age, too.

I second MissAmberLee's recommendation of stumptuous. Good all-around lifting information for women at every level of training, from beginner to advanced; focuses on science and not fads; and is clearly-written without dumbing anything down.
