Week 4
~~Eat as a family at least 3 times per week~~ We do this!!!!

~~~Involve your kids in your cooking.~~~~~~~ We do this as safely as we can. Kids do like picking out recipes;-)

~~Set your long-term family health goals.~~~~~ As the kids get older, I will have to adjust. Get them more involved and informed to make decisions on their own. Right now, lots of hands on guidance.

Week 3 Action Plan
~~Understand a child's needs for exercise~~
My kids and I are out doing stuff every day. TV/Screen time is very limited since I homeschool. Makes the day smoother. Baseball, cheerleading, swimming, jogging, hiking, walking, or just going to park is so important to the kids!
~Get active as a family at least 3xs week.~ Walking at the zoo at least 1x a week. Park at least 3xs a week. The winter was hard but we managed somehow! We are planting a garden this week;-)
~~~~~Make exercise a priority. ~~~~~~~~ Reading time is my time on the treadmill. My kids have silent reading 30 minutes a day and this is mom's time to walk on treadmill. They know mommy goes to bed early to wake up early and work out;-)

Week 2 Action Plan
~~~~~~Eat more fruits and veggies.~~~~~~~~ My kids love salad. I love salad. My DH loves salad. So we've been building on that love! Keeping fresh fruit in the house. That is great! No chips, ice cream, etc. Just not worth it.
~~~~Make the switch to whole grains. ~~~~~
I love whole grains. YES, those labels need to be read. I am teaching my kids to do this in the store. The other shoppers get annoyed, but oh well, they can go around us.
~~~Make over at least one favorite recipe~~~
We use fage (0 fat greek yogurt) in place of sour cream now. NO heavy whipping cream, I use evaporated milk. Applesauce in place of eggs in cakes now. These changes add up fast!
