Great pics! I absolutely love Vancouver, it is my favourite place I've ever been to. I was on a location tour with Gatecon in 2008, I'll try get some pics up in the next week or so!
Hopefully going back over in the summer next year, losing weight before going back is one of the things motivating me atm!

Love the pictures! I've never been to Vancouver, but my brother and my sister-in-law went a couple of years ago. They aren't Stargate fans, so they wouldn't have been looking for those sites, but I do remember that they did visit the Botanical Gardens (I can't remember the exact name) where 'Gamekeeper' (SG-1) was partially filmed.

Other sites that it would be cool to find are the team's residences. I know that all scenes at Jack's house were filmed in a real house. I read that the owners would rent it out to the studio whenever it was needed and the crew would personalize it with Jack's stuff. I loved Carter's house (I think the interiors were filmed in a real house, but I'm not sure--it might have been a set) and the apartment (condo?) where Daniel lived was shown once or twice. I also remember reading somewhere that the house where Gen. Hammond lived was used more than once. The back was used when it was Hammond's house and and the front was used when Jack and Maybourne crashed Kinsey's party ('Chain Reaction').

Research! We knew we were going for almost a year. There is an RDA site that listed tons of locations for seasons 1-7. There is also a book titled Reel Vancouver, but my copy didn't arrive until after we got home. It's an old book that shares info on a bunch of other shows that were filmed up there. I need to go back, the region is breathtaking in addition to the locations.

It's almost embarassing to list all the places we went while we were there for the Olympics. Of course, it IS embarassing to admit we considered getting some of those life sized cutouts of the team and taking our pictures with them at the locations! Fortunately packing for the Winter Olympics and flight baggage restrictions, as well as the cost of those cardboard cutouts made common sense win out. There's still an uber geeky part of me who thinks it would have been cool, though.

Thanks! One day, before the sites are all gone, I do want to go up for that express purpose. 2010 is the only con I've attended. Drove up for the day and returned that night after having pics signed by Michael Shanks. Such A Dream! Appreciate your sharing like this.

I just wanted to share some more photos from locations I visited from Stargate on my trip to Vancouver last year, so I put some more up on my Sparkpage in case anyone would like to check it out.
