Hi GlitterGirl, welcome. When I started Sparking in 2006, I was bourderline diabetic, had hyper tension, poor circulation and high cholecterol. From conducting my personal experiment of one via the help of the sites food tracker, I found that eating fruits in the place of candy cravings...and whole grain high fiber in the place of startch cravings, I was able to keep my carbs under 200 without feeling hungry.
My only real rule was to stay away from white processed flour products.
Now my BP is 120 over 80, my cholesterol is 170-180, and my glycerides are fine. On top of that my battle with depression is under control without the use of medication.
