Welcome from sunny Tucson, AZ. I am a self-taught quilter...I've attended one or two classes along the way. I see you also love to cook. You and I share those two passions...cooking and quilting...both can bring a lot of joy and creativity.

Make sure the glass is always half full!

Welcome from California. I just started quilting about 5-6 years ago and it's incredibly helpful to take a few classes or join a quilting guild if there are any in your area. I don't learn well from written instructions because I get too impatient and can't quickly translate the instructions to visual images inside my head. Also, there are some amazing youtube videos showing quilting techniques. Have fun.

Welcome to quilting and healthier living. I am from NE Wisconsin and have been quilting for about 10 years but still have much to learn. I have a friend to quilt with which helps a lot because she is much more experienced than I am. I live out in the sticks so I have to drive 25-50 miles to take a class, but do so once or twice a year. It's worth it for the fun and the fellowship of other quilters. You will find that most quilters are generous with their help and advice. Quilting is an expression of love and friendship.

Yup, quilting is addicting. Here is an easy 4 patch quilt. It can be made fancy or simple depending on the fabrics you chose.

Welcome from Florida. I've only been quilting since Sept 2010 when I took a class at a local quilt shop. I've become quite prolific at churning out projects! The more you sew, the more you learn! I think the most valuable things are 1/4 inch consistent seams, pressing seams in the right direction or open to reduce bulk and practice practice practice! Carol

Pursue the things that make you feel alive and fill you with joy and balance.!

Welcome from the beautiful mountains of North Carolina. I'm fairly new to quilting, too, and I'm mainly self-taught. I live too far from quilt shops to take classes, so I've relied on the internet for lessons. Check out Jenny Doan of Missouri Star Quilt Company on YouTube- her tutorials are excellent for beginners and I've made made beautiful things just using her tutorials. I've also signed up for some paid classes from Craftsy.com. Best wishes on your journey to a healthier you! And let us know how we can help.

Welcome from central Alabama. My family has quilted as far back as I can trace them. But we didn't live close enough for them to teach me, so my mom taught me to sew and I taught myself to quilt. I just jumped in with both feet and did what I wanted, never even considered there was a right or wrong way.

Hi
I'm from Wi and am trying to teach myself to quilt, so I may have questions along the way.I have 4 kids, 7 grandkids, married 42 years and work part-time. I am trying to lose weight and eat healthier and find so much great support from my Spark friends. Cooking is also a passion of mine and also a challenge these days to try and cook healthier , but still flavorful meals. Always looking for suggestions.

Never give up.
I am the only one who can hold me back.
