Welcome Nicole. You have come to the right place to brag about labs. We think that they are the BEST around and love them dearly.
I have a 105-110 lb yellow lab that is just huge (not fat either) who is my dh's ears. Dh is totally deaf (only 7 yrs now) and Toby lets him know when someone comes up and is outside. Wherever dh is, Toby is not far behind. lol

Hello everyone my name is Nicole and I just joined SP 3 weeks ago to get my health back on track and to lose a lot of weight. I don't even know when I packed on 100+ pounds! How sad is that?! But I have and it has to come off not only so that I look good and feel good but also for the health implications of carrying around that extra weight will eventually cause me. I have two gorgeous lab babies that bring joy to my life every day. I have a 7 yr old choc female named Emmy. We got her from some people getting rid of her when she was a 5 month old pup because they couldn't handle her. Needless to say she was a handfull as a pup but so loving and loyal that it overshadowed her destructiveness LOL and got her Mommy a new couch and lots of new shoes LMAO She has turned out to be the best dog I have ever owned. I love her dearly and she is the "mommy" of the household. Since she was so hyper as a younger dog we decided to foster with a local lab rescue so that she could have playmates but so we didn't have to worry about owning a second dog. So I started fostering and about a year into that came this big baby of a yellow lab and the two dogs hit it off, he was at our house several months and no one was showing too much interest in adopting him and we fell in love with him. His name is Champ. He is the biggest baby of a dog I have ever seen and he is a mess LOL but we love him. He is a barker, has seizures, always fighting ear infections, has bad back knees and after 4 years of having him we are still working on his socialization skills LOL When he came to our house from the shelter the poor boy didn't even know what a ball was and he was about a year old. I look foward to getting to know everyone in this group.
