Fancy,

emoticon to our humble abode!!!

It doesn't matter how or why you came here, but just that you came. Chef Meg, has some emoticon recipes. Sometimes, she does a video and explains things, and other times, the recipe is just on the site, so you can put it in your virtual cookbook and save for later. You have your choice of so many items. It's like being in a candy store!!! Which one do I want too try first!!!

Be blessed,

Blam123,

It can be very frustrating cooking for one and eating ALONE!!! I don't look at cooking and eating in that context. This is a life style change, and God has me in here for the long haul. I didn't like cooking for myself either, until my sister started giving me a few recipes that I really enjoyed. She gave me a recipe for roasted potatoes, and you can do anything you want with them. She gave me a recipe for baked chicken wings, that are crunchy and you can put whatever sauce you want on them, or even eat them plain. When I found these recipes gave me so much pleasure, in responding back to my sister, about how good they were, my whole out look changed. My life style has been changing since 07 Sep 2012 and I'm very pleased with what God has done to me, in me, for me, and through me!!! HE's FANTASTIC!!!

Stick with us, as there are so many others in the same boat, and we're here to be cheerleaders for each other, and well as encourage, and swap some recipes, if that may be the case.

Take care and God bless you,

- Nancy Jean -

My biggest problem with cooking for one is its no fun to create something and then eat it alone. My daughter is 21, engaged and in law school, so, I am on my own. Cooking for one SUCKS!!!

Emily,

Thanks for the welcome!!! I'm going to use you, as a source for cooking for one, if I may? I did get The Spark Solution in the mail yesterday. I haven't had time to look it over, yet. I'll check it out this weekend.

God bless you and take care,

MyBulldogs,

How in the world did you give up sugar? Don't you have fruit or anthing like that? I don't get any sugar other than my fruit, and of course there is some in the foods that I prepare, from the store. Well, I just told a fib!!! I do get sugar from my mints. I eat the life saver single wrapped pep o mints. I only use them, as they keep me from going into an asthma attack, when I get to hot and star coughing. It's been such a long time, since I've had any though. Praise the Lord, it's only 60 calories for 4 of them!!!

Welcome to Sparkpeople and this team!

I cook for one. I like to half recipes. Also, in their book, "The Spark Solution." the breakfast and lundh recipes are usually single servings. The dinner recipes are 4 servings, which is easy to half and have only on serving of left-overs.

Good luck in reaching all you goals!

From what I've noticed about the other message posts, I'm going to follow what they have to introduce myself.

1. Location: GA
2. Is this where I'm from: No PA and WVA
3. Married: No
4. Kids: No
5. Animals: No - allergic to them
6. Hobbies and Interests: Church, singing, some cooking, listening to music (all kinds), Reading and Word Find
7. How long have I been a member of SparkPeople? I joined on 17 Jun 2013. I've been with MFP for a year or so, and had tremendous success, but when my Curves Coach told me that everybody in Curves uses this site, I had to try it out. I love it!!! I won't leave MFP though, as I don't want to leave all my friends behind, so I'm working both sites.
8. How many am I cooking for: 1
9. How can the team help in supporting and aiding you in meeting your goals. I need to learn how to shop effectively on Social Security Disability. I need to learn how to cook for 1. I don't understand or know how to make anything other than the full recipe, so I freeze a lot of dishes. Example: My chicken fried rice give me 9 meals, and it's like 150 calories for 1/2 cup serving.
10. Is there anything else you want us to know about you? I'm a military brat!!! My dad spent 28 years in the Air Force, and I've done some extensive traveling with him. Then, I went into the Army and did more extensive traveling. Right now, I'm what man considers disabled, but because of what God has and is doing in me, to me, for me, and through me, I consider myself super enabled!!! PRAISE THE LORD, HE IS GOOD!!!
