Welcome Sharon. Listen - you CAN do this! Keep in focus what & why you're doing this! Use the food tracker - it helps SO much to make us completely aware of what we're putting into our mouths.....it's actually very revealing & helps us make better decisions.

Good for you for making this choice! Hang in there & keep posting on Sparkpeople - the community helps!

Welsome! Sherli

Have an awesome day!

Sherli

Welcome to Spark Sharon. What part of Michigan are you from? I'm originally from Muskegon for most of my adult life. I have been living in the Rio Grande Valley for the past 8 years.

I also go hypoglycemic (or at least I used to until I started Spark) but now I eat every 2-3 hours throughout the day. Being hypoglycemic makes it harder to lose weight rapidly but it's coming off - - at least I'm not gaining. If I was able to physically do my aerobid exercising it would help alot but I have to work with whatever my body will let me.

Welcome aboard.

Hi Sharon! Welcome to SP. I've only been a member a short time myself but find it very therapeutic. Since we all have the same goal we can all share in the ups and downs and support each other. Best of luck to you!emoticon

There's no elevator to reach success...you have to use the stairs.

Hi! I am from Michigan, am a widow and am retired for a year now. I don't cook for myself and of course this leads to grazing. I am hypoglycemic and tend to have mild sugar drops at night which contributes to my desire to overeat at night. I am trying to start exercising. I used to be known for being self disciplined with food and exercise. I did this with the help of a 12 step program which I don't wish to join again. I believe God and a support group will help me to get to my desired weight.

I have two adult children and three fantastic grandchildren.

I am in the process of recreating myself and of course my good health is a part of that. I have expanded my circles of friends and yet don't have a support group for health. Doctor suggested sparkpeople. I have about 25 lbs to lose.

Looking forward to this group. Sharon
