I used up the souls of two pairs of shoes losing my first 100 pounds

most people never make any big changes or start anything new, those who leaven the loaf of sociality are the ones who do not fit in the box, and a lot of us are dyslexic
my sister walks 15,000 steps a day at 63 years old and has lost 100 pounds.
i gave up grain and sugary products and have lost 44 pounds at age 60.
we are both still loosing weight until we reach our goal
Welcome from me, too, Kathie.. you're among friends! I'm in SE Arizona, about 200 miles from Phoenix, but my heart lives there in the body of my not quite three week old granddaughter.... :)
We lived in Kansas for a while.. and while the people there were delightful, there was far too much winter for our taste... so it's good to be back in Arizona... in almost every way. (I'm not enamoured of our legislature, but I'll just keep voting and seeing what happens!)
Best wishes on your journey to fitness.. I deal with hypertension too and have yo yo'd far too many time. Not so much now.. SparkPeople has been a huge help. I have lost about 64 since January and feel so much better and my doctor can't stop bragging about my improvement. So I bet you have the same experience!

Hi Kathie - - Welcome back to the fold!!! Second time around can be even better than the first!! Sounds like you have a lot of issues going on. You aren't alone. Many of us have been down the same alley in all areas of your life. You've taken the big step forward by coming back to Spark where you will have all kinds of support from sooo many people in all kinds of situations, myself included in most of them. But, this is a great start.. If you need just to talk, we're here for you as well.
Keep on truckin as they say.
One Day At A Time Dear Jesus!!!
Not looking at how many # to go but back and how many #s I've already lost!!!
Welcome back to Sparkpeople! I'm also returning after a few years off. Been back a few months now and loving every minute of it. I downloaded the app for my phone so I could keep track no matter where I am. We have a son who lives in Payson,Az. We were going to move out there about 2 years ago but costs stopped us from going at that time. Maybe someday. I am from Iowa born and bred.
It is nice to meet people hear cause they can really give you lots of tips, and encouragement! So Good Luck to you!!
Hi I am in Tucson, well I am in Washington this month as it is hot in Arizona :)
But instead of winter we have 9 month of spring and fall, you will enjoy it.
cooking is part of the key, I and having a big breakfast, 400 g carrots, 400 g cauliflower, 300 g Chicken, and 3 oz Japanese noodles all simmered together in broth - if you look at my tracker it is a lot of calories but I will eat half for breakfast and half for lunch
the other two parts are measuring and putting it in your tracker

Some people march to a different drummer, I march to the counter beat, sometimes pounding out my own tune, and dancing to that.
coming back to SP is a great step, good luck, have fun with your goal setting. I like to make it an adventure when possible.... to add to my journey.
be authentically you...
it's journey, not a one day hike.
1. Currently living in Kansas, but want to move to Phoenix within a year
2. I am originally from Chicago, but lived in Calif for 20 years and Utah for 4
3. Divorced since 1989
4. I have one son who live in Phoenix - he really wants me to move out there.
5. Two small dogs - Mollie & Gracie - They keep me smiling!
6. I love computers and reading
7. I joined several years ago but I just starting really using it on 7/7/2012
8. Haven't been really cooking, but when I do it is for just me.
9. I have a low self-esteem and really would enjoy support from the group!
10. I am obese, diabetic, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, low thyroid, depression and sleep issues. I also recently re-injured my back and waiting to see if I need surgery again. Suffering from sciatica daily. I am on medication for all of it! Sad huh?!
I am planning my goals daily and writing them in my planner to make myself accountable, and then blogging daily also. I just need motivation and recognition...at least to help me keep going.
Looking forward to hearing from you.....lovingly,
