This weekend presents with multiple opportunities to make excellent choices. All too often in the past I've seized parties as a chance to try it all. It's just one day, one day. Every choice is one choice that puts me either closer to my goal or farther away, and I don't want to step backward--not now, not today, not ever. Sometimes the decisions are not easy, the choices less than good; every choice impacts you and your success. Make the best choices you can; take a dish to a gathering that YOU totallly love; choose to wake up tomorrow happy about today's choices.
Celebrate your relationships...even the one with yourself!
Don't forget the purpose of the holiday. My dad and brothers all served this country and came home in one piece (maybe not whole). My dad (Army) served in WWII; my brothers (Air Force, Navy) in VietNam. My dad and younger brother are both gone now, as are many survivors of the wars fought by this country for our freedoms. Cherish your freedoms; honor those who serve and those who died either serving or having served.
