There are cookbooks out that are for 2 people. A lot of recipes are geared for 4 or 6 servings. All you have to do is divide by 2 or 3 to cut down ingredients. I usually freeze the leftovers and bring them out at my convience. If you like to eat fresh, it's easier. Just slice, dice or cube what you'll use.
