Your link from the links page works fine, Adlins.

LUVSBULLDOGS asked for help to get to Pixie's cookbook, and that link doesn't work for the rest of us. I didn't see the problem at first, but she posted the edit link which works fine for her, but not the rest of us.

I don't know, but you may have had the same problem with your links in some of your threads.

Be sure to use this link:
recipes.sparkpeople.com/cookbooks.as
p?
cookbook=356751

and not one that has the word edit in it.

The Team Cookbook? Hmm.. I just checked the link from the Links page (accessible below the scrolling box to the right) and it did work. Let me know where the link did't work from and I'll fix it as it has been a problem in some of the forum threads.

Thanks!

I don't know why, but copy pasting that cookbook link did not work for me. Perhaps I added an extra space, I don't know. I did get there eventually, going the long way around.

Here is what should be a clickable link: recipes.sparkpeople.com/cookbooks.as
p?
cookbook=356751

I'm curious - did you do the Spark Stages? The reason I ask is either stage 1 or Stage 2 has you measuring food. I still using measuring cups and a cheap little scale to measure out food. It is in invaluable. I know it's hard, but the more you do it, the more you get used to it. I've also discovered that some portion sizes are too much for me. Which is good, because it feels great to enter that you ate 1/2 or 2/3 or a portion.

Our "regular" oven (full size) went on the blink and I ended up buying one that sits on the counter. I was forced to down-size meals. Amazing the dif that has made!

Yea well I have noticed that when I am hungry it makes it harder to eat smaller portions but I am lazy as well! LOL So it takes more effort to pull it out of the fridge and put it on a plate and warm it up than it did when it was in the bowl I cooked it in. And also if I know I have eaten enough I will wait about 10 minutes before eating anymore. Most of the time if I eat more, it makes me miserable to eat a second portion. I will also drink water after I eat that way I don't eat more simply because I still have the taste for it. Water will clean your palate and then you can get a better idea to whether or not you are truly still hungry or if you just want to eat more because you have a taste for it. Good Luck and don't give up!

I only cook for 2 and what I normally do is scoop out my portion and out away the rest. I will go ahead and put the leftovers in a container to take to work with me the next day. I do that even before I eat that way I am not tempted to eat the whole thing! :) I hope this helps!

Hi there,

I definitely agree with you on that one. Although I only cook for one person, I often make big batches of food to have for leftovers and end up eating WAY too much. Maybe the answer is to cook in smaller amounts.

Hi everyone I am a restarted member. Although I eat fairly healthily I find myself still cooking for a family and there are just two of us now. I think my portion control is out of the window. I have joined a diet and exercise class, I am in week two and trying to remain motivated. I am hoping recipes designed for two will help. emoticon
