Thanks for the encouragement. I'm 75 years old and I've been fighting fat since I was about 8 years old - have lost a lot of weight over the years, and then unfortunately gained it all back and more. Makes me scared to start again, but so far i've found SparkPeople to be much more positive and helpful, although I'm still having problems working with the website -often end up frustrated after a couple of hours so I quit for the day and try again tomorrow. emoticon

well you've come to the right place. you've joined a great team who are here to help you in your health journey.

everyones chemistry is different. people who can eat anything and not gain weight have no concept of what we go through. so try this,


first throw out all the junk food in your house.

then Use the food tracker. input everything that goes into your mouth. stay within your calorie range. watch portion size, keep healthy snacks on hand. apple, celery, etc. exercise. you must burn more calories than you eat.

exercising is key. I hope this helps

Hi my names Kate i am a 29yr old seperated aussie i joined last week starting weight 92.9kg this weeks weigh in today one week on is 91.0kg pleased with my progress so far but has been challenging week remembering to drink my 8 glasses of water. i also work night shifts so reminding myself not to eat or drink the bad foods. and eating b4 work instead of when i get home. i hope to find motivation on this site and knowing i have to track provides me with continues resolve (i hope) looking for friends and a new life
