Dorothy

If you tell God no because He won't explain the reason He wants you to do something, you are actually hindering His blessing. But when you say yes to Him, all of heaven opens to pour out His goodness and reward your obedience. What matters more than material blessings are the things He is teaching us in our spirit.

MKSMIMMA - Welcome to Sparkpeople!
Sounds like you have been through a lot before discovering that gluten was at the root of your problems. So very glad to hear you are now cancer free, and seizure free. That must have been a very scary chapter in your life.
You sound a lot like me as far as the weight gain issue. I have been gluten free now for 25 years. I have both dermatitis herpetiformis and celiac. Yes, gluten free can be healthy, but not necessarily diet friendly if you struggle with weight gain issues. I was always on the heavy side of the "normal weight" range, but when I went GF I became overweight and as I have gotten older, I blossomed to the obese range. I am now back in the overweight range and working to get back to a healthy weight for my age, height, and bone structure. Sparkpeople is helping me in so many ways. For one thing, I can't wait to log in each morning and get a shot of inspiration.
I am sure you will find the inspiration you need to achieve your goal(s) here, also. emoticon emoticon

Slow and steady wins the race.

Hi All,
Just signed up for sparkpeople yesterday. But, I've been gluten firer for eight years. Before that I didn't know I had celiac. Colon cancer and a year of seizures led me to the root of my problems: gluten! Now, I am cancer free, seizure free and gluten free.

Gluten free does mean healthy...I've gained a lot in that time, although I was never considered slim. So, here I am, looking forward to your inspiration, advice and friendship.

:-)
