Good luck on your journey going gluten free. I've been on a strict gluten free diet for 2 1/2 years now and for the most part, everyone in my household eats gluten free, with a few exceptions. My youngest has a wheat and milk allergy as well. It was REALLY hard for me at first. The first month was a nightmare. I was angry and it was literally like I was having withdraws. My youngest was just the same. He threw tantrums (of course he is 6 and doesn't understand). Now it's no big deal. It's something I'm used to and it doesn't cause me to start bleeding internally and I no longer swell up like I'm 6 months pregnant, nor are the migraines as bad as they used to be. It's been very worthwhile for me.

Despite what the general opinion seems to be, gluten free can taste just as good as a non gluten free diet. Udi's has really good bread products. Gluten free bagels with cream cheese and jelly is one of my favorite treats. I also enjoy cinnamon rice with raisins as well. emoticon

Hi Faith, that's what I am hoping for. I know I can be 100% but it's like going vegetarian we do it a few meals a week as well. I just know that once I start to eat wheat bread or flour tortillas it's like setting a bomb to go off. I am gladto be here for my health.

In a prebariatric program hoping to get approval for weight loss surgery.

Be Blessed!

Althligh I have some uten sensivities, I, like you, do not have celiac disease. I choose to eat wheat only 3-4 times per week. When I do, I take a gluten enzyme first; it helps my body digest gluten.

I am not 100% GF. Cutting back, though, has improved my health.

Hi all, I was reading about what wheat and gluten does to our bodies and I fit almost all of them. I do not have celiac (I'm sorry for those who do). I have major joint pain, lost of inflammation, I break out in rashes in the oddest places, I have not clarity in my mind and my attitude sucks. I also am addicted to bread, tortillas, and so on. My friend at work suggested I follow gluten free when I was considering just wheat free.
Oh yeah I am Kathy, 48. I suffer from high blood pressure, heart failure, super obese, and joint pain. I work full time, married, mom of 3 grown kids and 4 beautiful grandhcildren.

In a prebariatric program hoping to get approval for weight loss surgery.
