we just made the chebe focaccia bread the other day. it was tasty, but we didn't do so well cooking it...it was almost over-cooked on the outside, and undercooked in the middle. we'll try again someday, but it seemed like it would be a great pizza crust.
8 years--wow.

This is my eighth year. I grew up on a mediterranean diet of bulger wheat, pita bread, pasta. It's very hard especially around family. I eat quinoa.millet buckwheat, and tapioca. and mung-noodles. yummmmmm!
I did find a very good bread mix, no yeast, no potato. you can make pizza, bread sticks and also pita bread. It's called Chebe.....this is yummmmmm to. I hope you can find it where you live.
I'm just careful how often i eat it, it's nice to have pizza when everyone orders out.
congratulations on all your weight loss. an inspiration to me. thank you for that.

hi, utterlyfun! emoticon
yes, gf is expensive, but overall, i think it's less expensive than being unhealthy, right?
for me, the first few months were pretty challenging...no toast, no sammiches, no SPAGHETTI!!! it's not so hard now, most days. i haven't found a yeast bread substitute i can make, but i've made progress with quick breads. in addition to gluten, i avoid potato and corn, which eliminates most prepared gf foods for me.
one thing i've been thinking about a lot is that before i went gf, i NEVER ate "white" bread. i went for whole grain, healthy breads. it feels to me as if most gf prepared things would qualify as "white," so i'm committed to finding(or adapting) recipes that are gf and whole grain.

hi utterlyfun, I love your name! I agree g.f. is expensive and sometimes the food does not taste good. Maybe we could exchange recipes, I don't bake too much I have other allergies like to sugar, soy, maltadextrine ( not sure thats spelled quite right) but other things. I do love to cook, and try new things. I used to do wedding cakes and such but my allergies were getting to much even for that. So my whole family is gf with me. ( at least at home)

Welcome to the team. Yes it is high but if you make your own then it is allot better and it has better taste too.

If you tell God no because He won't explain the reason He wants you to do something, you are actually hindering His blessing. But when you say yes to Him, all of heaven opens to pour out His goodness and reward your obedience. What matters more than material blessings are the things He is teaching us in our spirit.

Yep, the prices of GF is high. I very seldom buy anything that is premade and try and do almost everything that I can by scratch.

Hello team! I am rejoining Spark after a three year break. I have been gluten free about 2 years due to Celiac. I love to cook and bake, I just do it for other people most of the time. The most frustrating thing to me is the prices that are charged for gluten free items. Happy New Year!

Nice Matters!
