Here it is, another January and again I find myself looking back over the past year whishing I had kept up last year's resolution to make my health and fitness a priority. I have read books, joined meetings, joined gyms, talked to a life coach, added apps, read blogs and even followed a crazy clense suggested by my naturopath and yet I still can't seem to maintain (or more recently...get down to) my goal weight.
I just read what I wrote and I noticed the very negative (sarcastic) tone to my intro. But I'm actually a very positive and optimistic person. I believe that challenges are always matched with support, and that difficult/uncomfortable times are actually periods of growth. I am forgiving and accepting to all the people in my life...well except for one...ME.
So this year, instead of waiting until I reach my goal weight and fit into that certain pair of jeans, I'm going to work on accepting myself and loving myself now. I'm going to give my body the exercise it needs to be strong and the nutrition it needs to get there. To do this, to break my habbits I need support, motivation and tools to help keep me on tract. It's time for a change, because let's face it, my old ways just don't work.
