Hey Francie! I just realized I belong on this team too, besides the Arkansas one that you were leading. Yay, another thing in common we can get support on. I know things are more difficult right now, but remember there are many here who will show you love and support.

I have been eating no refined sugar, no dairy and no wheat for a little more than a year now. The health results are just amazing! My asthma and sinus problems have just about disappeared. Wish I could say I also lost weight, but that hasn't happened yet. I need to get more consistent with exercise for that to occur. My children and husband don't follow my diet. I found rice to be very helpful. When my family is having a pasta dinner, I have the spaghetti sauce on rice instead. When they have tacos, I have the ground beef mix on lettuce instead. I found little alterations like that were simpler than getting my teenagers to accept my new diet. Funny, my daughter when to a cross country camp at a college this summer. Now she is eating frozen corn/peas instead of ice cream...Interesting idea...I might have to try that some hot afternoon.
Hi Francie- I love to cook and find easy ways to feed myself without gluten. I go to the library and check out cookbooks to find new recipes and use online too! You might enjoy the cookbook "The Whole life Nutrition Cookbook" by Alissa Segersten and Tom Malterre. It has lots of recipes that are "free" of stuff. I also love Carol Fenster cookbooks that show you how to substitute for gluten, eggs etc. Take one day at a time and make friends with your local health food store and check out Bob's Red Mill flours to make your own flour blends. I found that the most important thing I learned in this whole process is to just start trying things that sound good until you find foods that you really like. Feel free to ask questions on my sparkpage if there is anything I can help you with. Barb

Hi and welcome to the team. you can google for those recipes and there is allot out there but you will need to adapt them to what you can and can't eat. That is what most people do here.
If you tell God no because He won't explain the reason He wants you to do something, you are actually hindering His blessing. But when you say yes to Him, all of heaven opens to pour out His goodness and reward your obedience. What matters more than material blessings are the things He is teaching us in our spirit. I am Francie and live in Arkansas. My Dr put me on this a little over a month ago. It has been so hard getting used to. I have lost 7.8 pounds but need help with knowing what I can cook with and recipes. Thanks in advance.
