I have been eating no refined sugar, no dairy and no wheat for a little more than a year now. The health results are just amazing! My asthma and sinus problems have just about disappeared. Wish I could say I also lost weight, but that hasn't happened yet. I need to get more consistent with exercise for that to occur. My children and husband don't follow my diet. I found rice to be very helpful. When my family is having a pasta dinner, I have the spaghetti sauce on rice instead. When they have tacos, I have the ground beef mix on lettuce instead. I found little alterations like that were simpler than getting my teenagers to accept my new diet.
Funny, my daughter when to a cross country camp at a college this summer. Now she is eating frozen corn/peas instead of ice cream...Interesting idea...I might have to try that some hot afternoon.
