My name is Michelle and I just recently went on a gluten free diet. I've been with spark for a while, but I just recently got back on the bandwagon. A few years ago I lost about 60 pounds, and I have since gained 40 of it back. My goal is to eat healthy again and move more.
I recently went gluten free after talking with my great aunt and a friend of mine with Crohn's who both went gluten free. They both told me that they have never felt better. My great aunt is in her 80s and my friend is in his 30s - I thought if is working for both of them, I should look into it. After some throughout research, I decided to give it a shot. I've never felt completely horrible in my life, but I would always get heavy bloating and experience gas on a nightly basis. I would sometimes also have bigger digestive issues. Also, I had problems with fatigue. I was just living my life in an uncomfortable state. I have not been tested but I believe I have a gluten intolerance since after being on the gluten free diet a few weeks, I don't get bloated, rarely have gas, have much less fatigue and only have digestive issues when I accidentally eat gluten.
I'm a fan of yoga, and try to make that part of my daily life - although it doesn't always fit in the busy schedule. I'm a young professional who just recently got my masters degree in library science. I spend each day sharing the love of literature and community with young people! It's a wonderful job. :)
I look forward to learning more about the gluten free lifestyle, and meeting people who are also on a weight loss journey.
