Hi Angela, Welcome to the team. Make sure you take care of yourself. I know that as a parent we always want to put our kids ahead of our own problems but if if do not take care of ourselves we might not be around to take care of our children.

Welcome! It is a challenge at first to figure out new ways to cook but VERY much worth it when you start feeling better! (I have multiple foods that I have to avoid also. I wish it was a law that they had to state where the "food starch" came from when it is listed on a label. Maybe that will be next. I really like that more foods are being labeled as gluten free now.)

I am fairly new to this also, but the best advice I have for you is read every label. Also, search online for a celiac or gluten free web site. Many of them list foods to avoid. I had never even heard of many of the foods on that list before. Now I am getting well versed in what to avoid. If in doubt, avoid it. Ask. I have contacted many manufacturers online to ask them. Most are more than willing to let you know, especially when you let them know it's a health issue.
Be sure to eat enough freggies, and drink enough water. It really does help keep the cravings down.
also track everything you eat, and how you are feeling every day. You may discover sensitivities to other foods that you did not know about before. I know it has helped me immensely. I am adding pork to my do not eat list now because of tracking like this.

I am a 27 year old mom of two awesome little boys. Ever since I can remember I've been plagued with canker sores. Not just one or two....I'm talking about clusters of canker sores in my mouth, and they are present more often than not. No doctor can explain them, just tell me to use canker sore treatment cream from the pharmacy. I've also suffered from extreme fatigue for as long as I can remember. I could sleep 16 hours a night and still be exhausted. It really is affecting my quality of life. I have a history of depression and mood swings. I also have some digestive troubles. I cannot drink milk or I get instant severe stomach cramps and tummy problems. I also have gained 40 pounds in the past year even though I work my butt off and eat healthy.
I went to a naturopath out of desperation about 2 years ago and got the VEGA food intolerance testing. I'm a bit leery of it, but decided I was going to try the diet out. Right when I was about to start my youngest son got really sick and I focused all of my time and energy on him. He has similar symptoms as I do. I let my healthy slide because I was focusing on him as most mothers do. I have decided that it's time I focus on myself so I'm able to be a better mom. My VEGA test results came back as intolerant to dairy, wheat, eggs, alcohol, citrus, and strawberries.
