You fit in just fine. If you're only trying out no-wheat for a few weeks, I'd recommend avoiding going out to eat--that's the hardest part for me. Otherwise, realize there's tons of stuff you CAN eat instead: potatoes, rice, corn, etc. Stick to simple meals like grilled/sauteed/steamed meats and veggies, salads (careful of the dressing), rice pasta. If you like cereal for breakfast, get Chex (anything but wheat). READ LABELS.

I do not know how well I fit in here. My dr sent me to see a nutritionist because I have not been feeling well and am having serious weight issues. The nutritionist fells that I may have some sort of sensitivity to wheat and has asked me to cut it out completely until I see her again in a few weeks. This is so much harder than I thought!!

Thanks for the nice welcomes. to hear of others who are multiply "blessed". And thanks for the link! I have been on Karina's blog but I never read the backstory to it, so that was quite interesting. Other sites I visit for inspiration are BookOfYum and glutenfreegirl (some amazing recipes on gluten-freerecipes.blogspot.com). I've also become a fan (again) of Iron Chef and other food shows where they use unusual ingredients to make delicious and gorgeously aesthetic dishes. There really is a lot out there to play with!
Welcome! (I also have a list - No gluten, dairy, corn, peanuts... that I need to avoid) This team is still very helpful and supportive. It is definitely an adventure to make new meal plans but it is so great to feel better that it is worth the time and effort.
Hi All, I am one month in to a GF Wheat free life. I'm not sure how much I will fit in as I also have a severe lactose intolerance, just discovered that I cannot eat corn and soy, and have not been able to eat fruit for the last ten years. There are many other things I must keep away from (too many and too boring to list). So that is all pretty limiting. Perhaps there are others out there similar to me??
So, enough of what I can't eat. I'm here to broaden my diet and figure out what I CAN! I am looking at it as a big challenge to be creative. And am hoping that after being GFCF+ for a while, that I can eventually add some things back in. Looking forward to some great ideas from the posts on this board.
