Oh I hear ya. I am no spring chicken. GF Intolerance can cause weight gain. I have replaced bread with corn tortillas or I just do without and it hasn't been to bad. I put anything on a corn tortilla. I will get a regular sandwich at the deli and take off the bread and wrap it in, you guessed it, a corn tortilla.
It is good that you can have dairy. Some people are intolerant to many things so it must be very hard.
You have come to the right place. Use your trackers and drink your water. You can't go wrong.

I don't seem to be intolerant to lactose or soy. I am allergic to mold and therefore aged cheeses, wine etc. I have not been to an allergist yet but I am planning to do so. During this whole thing my weight has gradually crept up and I have had alot of difficulty losing weight. I don't know if this is related or more due to my age going up lol.

Bless your heart. Welcome to the GF team. You will find alot of info and support here. I have Celiac disease which is the result of GF intolerance. It is great that you have found your problem. It took me many years before I was diagnosed. I had skin issues and very bad allergies along with stomach and bowel problems also had Atrial Flutter(not sure if GF intolerance was involved). I was sick all the time because my autoimmune system was gone. I have been GF for 3 months and I am healing. The skin and stomach issues have been the first to start clearing up. I still have bad allergies and get sick alot but it will take more time to heal.
Do you have other intolerance's such as Lactose and Soy?
Please feel free to ask any questions you have.

I am new to sp and saw the gluten free team. I have not been tested for a wheat allergy but was having skin issues, sinus problems, heart palpitations and extreme fatigue so I cut a lot of things out of my diet. When I tried to add wheat back the sinus headaches and palpitations returned, so I guess I'll stay wheat free. I'm interested in reading other people's stories and dietary tips.
