Hello ! I am Jan ,45 years old, live in the UK with Hubby and a teenage son. I had loads of weight to lose pre op,looking for help and advice on how not to put any more weight on and try to lose some. I have just recently had my Hysterectomy, 3 weeks ago today. I also had my ovaries removed, which started the Menopause, fingers crossed just having the odd hot flush.I am not taking any HRT as I was advised by my Gynaecologist to try it by diet..I have noticed if I don't have all my milk and yoghurt quota my hot flushes are stronger !

Biggest loser summer challenge

Week 1 lost 3lbs
Week 2 lost 2.4 = 5.4lbs
Week 3 lost 3.1= 8.5lbs

Welcome. I was also 36 when I had my surgery. My father passed a month after my surgery and I had to travel out of town. Then my husbands mother passed 2 weeks after my father passed. So, my recovery time was hindered. I didn't gain quite that much weight (over 30 lbs), but that was enough. Hang on in there.

Sticking to it no matter what.

Don't be afraid of going slowly, just be afraid of not going (moving) at all.

Yvonne

Hi my name is Stephanie. 1st of all WOW there are so many of us, that makes me sad. Glad I had my surgery, I mean it was necessary and I don't have the problems i did, but still-why are there so many young hysterectomies out here ( i was 36 ) I had my surg in June 2003, 1 month before I lost my father to cancer. the following year I work really hard not to gain the 50 lbs I have heard is typical that 1st yr after a hysterectomy. i did fairly well I think i gained 15 lbs but not the 50. Then in 2005 I broke my back (jet ski accident ) and then had to have my gall bladder removed 2 months later. HELLO 50 lbs.. then just for kicks I added another 20. So here I am, I desprately want to lose this weight. I turned 40 last yr and I am heavier then I have every been, including when I was 9 mths preggers with my kids. I am encouraged though that with so many people here we can support each other through this adventure.
