Nice to have you join the team! I am from sunny California. I too use a anti-depressant and I wear a patch called Vivelle Dot that has a low dosage of estrogen. I had my total hysterectomy in 2003 and since then have gained 30 pounds, mostly in my stomach so I look pregnant! I am curious to find this wonderful new product that might be helpful to me!
Sorry for the loss of your brother. All that stress certainly can mess with your sleeping pattern. I did read somewhere that as we get older we tend to need less sleep. I often take a little nap during the afternoon if I feel I need one.

Hello

I am from South Africa and my name is Ellrina.
I had a hysterectomy in sept 2006. I have had all the problems that go with it. Worse was the hot flashes and night sweat for 3 to 4 hrs at night. I was on Premarin. I gained 12kg weight about 22 lbs in one month. I slept 2 - 3 hrs a night. Moody. etc.
I spoke to others on it they had no problems or thought mine was normal. After a year I went to doctor for blood tests. He reckoned my dose was to high. After a few different tablets i found Ortho -Est. That helped me. I could sleep again. the night sweat was minimal now. Moods better. Hot flashes less. But then came the summer. At least I sleep for 5 - 6 hrs and get up every 45 min. to go the the loo.
Then my brother got cancer and my sleep was gone. Too much stress. Now I suffer along with all. My brother passed away at age 32. I still take a depression tablet with the HRT.
Then I started to search the web for alternatives. and Guess What? I found it.
But too expensive with the international shipping and import duties. They do not have it in South Africa.
I will tell about it on the general team, and all of you can look it up, and buy it.

Welcome to the group! I would slowly build up your strength. After going through any kind of surgery it takes awhile for your body to readjust~especially after a hysterectomy. Walking is an excellent choice! Make sure you are getting enough protein and maybe have little snacks that will give you some extra energy during the day. Fruit would be a good choice or almonds.

Well i just signed up yesterday and I am trying to find my way around the site,I am a life time member of W.W. but have not been to a meeting in a few years (a friend told me about this site yesterday) I am not at goal weight lol. I got off track and have gained back 18 lbs. I had my hysterectomy May 22nd of this year, went back to work a couple of weeks ago. I have started walking a little love to walk and trying to watch what I eat. I still get tired but I feel so much better ready to get back into the main stream of life get healthy. Any advice will be welcome thanks so much!!!
