GAYLLYNNE - I feel ya on the weight gain. I have gained gained 8 pounds since my surgery. I've had the tummy for a while-was starting to lose it when I had the surgery. Now it's like starting all over again. And the tummy is not an easy thing to lose, especially when you are older(51). But I agree that we need to support one another in this journey. My eating has gotten better but I'm still struggling with the water-I just don't like it. I use the "on the go" Wyler's Light sometimes to add flavor but I was told that it's not water when you add something to it. So, what do I do? I figure some water in any form is better that no water at all.

I gained at least 10 lbs after my surgery and also got a tummy where I never had one before. After my surgery I also got divorced and packed more weight on. It's been tough but I'm working hard now at getting rid of the fat and starting my life over. As long as we support each other, we can win!

The longest journey starts with one step.

Well Ladies,
I have come to the conclusion that I have to make up my minds to lose this weight and just do it - no excuses. I'm going to enlist the support of someone I know will encourage me - my sister (she's a health nut). I also have to quit making excuses and blaming "others" for my shortcomings. I have a mind of my own and it's time I used it for my own good. So, starting tomorrow, I will exercise 30 minutes five days a week, eat more fruits and vegetables, lay off the chips (except baked @ recommended serving), limit my sweets, and drink at least 8 glasses of water a day. Now that I've said it out loud, I feel obligated to do it. I will post how I'm doing.

Hi and Welcome!
I just had surgery on Valentine's Day(2008). I have gained 6 pounds, after having lost 21 since August 2007. If I can get motivated to exercise again I think I can lose it again. Even though I am was released with no restrictions, I somehow seem to use the surgery as an excuse not to exercise (consistently). I have been eating more fruits and vegetables and attempting to drink more water. If only I can get motivated to exercise again. Any suggestions?

Beverly

Hi, I had surgery 8 months ago and have managed to find 15 lbs (after I had lost 80 in the last 2 years. So I am going to check in here and see how you all are doing.
