I echo what everyone else has said. We all struggle with fluctuations. As far as the night eating I allow myself to eat at night. I always have and I have still managed to lose weight. Granted I don't gorge or anything but I do allow myself a small bowl of cereal or another snack that gets me satisfied and do not feel guilty about it at all.

Welcome to the group. We all get frustrated over weight fluctuations. Remember that going up and down a couple or more pounds a day probably has more to do with water retention than with real weight gain. Try to limit sodium and drink plenty of water. I gained 5 pounds the other night because of the sodium in a really good pizza, but it was gone by the next evening. Yes, I also hate to see the scales go up like that, but I no longer panic quite as much when it happens!

Have you ever tried weight watchers? I am doing there online program with great success.

i am a 62 yr old women, who is trying to lose this weight, my problem is, i;m up, then i;m down, i just go back and forth, i don't lose and keep it off, i can go all day and eating dont bother me that much, but nites is a very different story, i want something in my mouth, one day i'm 235 next day i;m 231, thats the way i go, i need help, maybe if i had some encouragement to help me keep going, i could do it, i've lost weight once, got down to 175, but its all back, i promise if i lose it again i will keep it off, I NEED HELP
