MARATHONME2978, you're hilarious! I think I'm "part penguin" too! I run about the same pace as you and have run 10K (6miles) a few times. I'm thinking about doing a half marathon in the spring, even if I have to walk a lot of it. I'd like to be one of your Virtual Running Buddies!
SBILZ40 - what does "building a base" mean?! Working on core strength? Running more regularly?
If you don't like the road you're walking, start paving another one!

I too am looking for a buddy to share this journey with. For motivation and support. For the last three months I have been thinking about my first marathon. During this three months I have been building a base. I have run off and on for the last few years but nothing more then three miles. I'm not fast and do take walk breaks and could really careless if I win or loose. I just want to finish. My long run is now at 6 miles and I run 4 days a week. Marathon date is I. 37 weeks... I can and will do this.
Hi All! I'm looking for a buddy to check in with a few times a week and share running tips and tricks, playlist ideas, talk about ups and downs of running to lose weight, and anything else that may stand in our way.
A little about me.....I am 38 with five kids, four boys still at home, I have about 60 pounds to lose, I am running about three days a week and go about three miles but it's a walk/run and takes me about 50 minutes ( YES! I know I'm part penguin!) I signed up for a half marathon coming up on December 1st and my goal is to finish in under 4 hours. I hope to be about to run the full three miles by this race and just walk run the other 10. (YES! I know its a long race for a beginner, I never take the easy way in the things I do)
BTW If you are in the Orlando area let me know, It's always nice to meet new people. There is a running club that meets a few times a week here but I have yet to make myself go....
