Hi, Gina!
Welcome aboard!

Like Tim said, there are so many good healthful choices out there, you are bound to find new favorites. And really, you don't have to say goodbye to your old ones, necessarily. It is more about making conscious choices and allowing some of them in when appropriate.

I still eat a few of my old bad foods, but less of them, far less often. Some of them, honestly, my body rejects because it likes the healthier stuff I am eating now. But this journey is not about deprivation. I look at it as an opportunity to provide your body with the fuel it needs to operate optimally. Finding the fuels that satisfy your body and your tastebuds?... Priceless!

Enjoy your journey!

Laura

Welcome!

I agree with Timothy - I eat FAR better now than I ever did when I was gaining. And I don't mean health-wise either! (though that's true). Food is an amazing adventure! Enjoy it!

DOn't be sad to say goodbye to the food that got you big in the first place. Be happy to say hello to all the new foods you will be meeting/eating on you journey to great health.

Start by doing what is necessary, then do what is possible and suddenly you will be doing the impossible -- St Francis of Assisi

Hi! My name is Gina. In early 2011 I decided to run my first race which was a half...I was out of shape but made it!!! Sadly that was really the last time I ran. I had the mentality that I did what I set out for...not the mindset that I was a runner. This time I want to be a runner! I am a believer that clean eating, running and P90X is the way to go (because it worked for me in the past) but I am sad to say goodbye to the foods that got me big in the first place. Today is the start of my weight loss journey so I will be doing a lot of re-learning, learning and working hard! I am 158 pounds and only 5 ft tall, my goal is to get back to 120. Very do-able. Looking forward to getting to know people here! Later!
