I started walking two years ago and it turned into a passion for running. I lead a Run For God group in the fall and grew closer to a wonderful group of ladies with a passion for God and for becoming more healthy. My #1 suggestion to you is to run you own race...don't compare yourself to others...take pride in each step you take and make each of them count. And beware-it is addicting.

So you caught the running bug, eh? Congratulations! I know that once I started running last summer, I just wanted to keep going. Last year, I did 3 5k races and a 4 mile race. This year, I'm doing at least one 10k, two half marathons (shooting for 4) and several 5k races as well as planning on doing a full marathon in 2014. It REALLY is addicting!
There's a TON of information out there as well. Make sure to take advantage of it, and Coach Nancy is a treasure trove of information as well!
! The running world is the one athletic area I've gone into that is more open to varying skill/experience levels than any other. Any questions, concerns or "I did it!" moments? Post 'em! You will get so much support for your PERSONAL journey here.

Last year my husband company had a team do a cnacer walk for breast cancer and I enjoyed myself alot. Then I did my first 5k. It was being promoted by the gym I like so I participated and I was very happy I did. It was scary and I almost didn't do it. My husband also enjoys walking and running and it is something we found that we enjoy together. I'm interested in reading what others have to say about it so I can learn more.
