Hi all... My name is Kari, just found this group and am excited to join an active board for chatting about running!
My story...I started running when I was about 10 years old, going along on jogs with my dad. Doing fun runs and road races together was a great father-daughter activity for us, one I hope to pass on to my future children. So I've been running for TWENTY YEARS...wow, it's weird to see it written like that. :) I was on track & cross-country teams in junior high & high school, gave up competitive running in college though.
I've done several marathons....but after #5, I realized that the long runs, 15+ milers on the weekends, were what was killing my body. When I hit that point I would inevitably feel overtrained & an injury would rear its ugly head. So now my race of choice is the half-marathon.
