55 lbs may sound like a big challenge, but you can do it. Just set some little goals and take one day at a time. Don't deprive yourself because it will only increase your craving. I would not jump off the cliff but slowing start changing your lifestyle. This way you will have better success at maintaining the loss. For example, if you really eat fast food 3 times a day, try to limit it to once a day. Then your next goal could be 3 times a week, etc., until you are only eating it once a month. Also,look up the nutrition of the restaurant and start making a more healthy choice off their menu.
