Hi Robb, I am new here too and am supposed to lose 35 pounds by June 10. Can't wait because I would love to wear shorts for the first time in years! I think the tracker is going to be a very useful tool. How are you doing. Making any progress yet?

Hi RobbJames! The great thing about Spark People...it is FREE. It doesn't cost you anything. You will get a lot of support on the site and there is abundance of nutrition information and exercise videos.
55 lbs may sound like a big challenge, but you can do it. Just set some little goals and take one day at a time. Don't deprive yourself because it will only increase your craving. I would not jump off the cliff but slowing start changing your lifestyle. This way you will have better success at maintaining the loss. For example, if you really eat fast food 3 times a day, try to limit it to once a day. Then your next goal could be 3 times a week, etc., until you are only eating it once a month. Also, look up the nutrition of the restaurant and start making a more healthy choice off their menu.

Hi ya'll i thought maybe I would join a community who has the same goal in mind. According to spark I am suppose to loose 55 pounds by July 28th. AHHH that's a lot. I'm going the low carb route as I've had luck with loosing 30 pounds doing 20gms or less a day. I am by no means a nutrition expert so I can totally use all the help in the world. How much money does this site end up costing me. I took a long look at what I was eating each day. For breakfast two sausage biscuits from BK with a large tater tot and large sweet tea. about 64 oz or diet dr pepper, usually something to the effect of a 7 piece chicken strip from Chicken express with a large fry and sweet tea, and have eaten entire bags of family size potato chips from WM and then a whole box of Macaroni and cheese. OBVIOUSLY thats my problem. I take seroquel though for emotional reasons and I think that is a huge factor but I am for sure in the need for a change. I've been good for 4 days now, except for last night when I just couldn't stop eating chocolate pecan clusters from grandma after i had eaten 5 of them i looked at the nutrition facts and noticed they were 21 carbs each, I about lost it =( I just ruined my whole good day. Anyway I am rambling I look forward to getting to know you folks. and HELP.
