Welcome, Jen! This team hasn't been very active, but hopefully that will change with the warmer weather that we're all wishing for right now!

I'm Vicky. I just started a weight loss/management program and while I was searching for breakfast ideas I came across SP. I'm a total novice to this site so I ask that you treat me kindly :)

Hey all! I'm Bri. I used SP years ago to lose weight for my wedding and now I'm back! I've got 20ish pounds left to lose of the weight I put on when I was pregnant. I'm a runner, and have been trying to work up to a half-marathon. It's been hard this winter, too cold to be outside and I hate running on a treadmill. I'm really looking forward to this weather warming up a bit so I can get out and go!

Hi Deana ... glad to hear from you. I'm hoping to get outside to do a lot of walking this spring and summer ... sounds like your exercise routine really works well ... hope you can get back into it again.

Hello, my name is Deana. I would like to find people to work out with. It is difficult to become motivated this year. Last year I lost 53 lbs doing p90x and insanity......Now, so far since November I have gained 25 of that back. I have both the p90x videos and the insanity videos. I am also willing to walk, run(as much as I can as i'm not much of a runner), or whatever.

It sounds like you have a plan and a good reason to be really serious about your diet. I'd say the more water you drink the better but I wouldn't think maybe 1 diet orange a day would hurt. Are you able to walk or anything? That helps blood sugar and they also say cinnamon is good for blood sugar too. You can do this. I am a cancer survivor and one of the main reasons I got serious about my diet was I wanted to take my health back. It worked. I lost 40 pounds, exercise every day and feel the best I have ever felt and I'm 60. One step at a time. Log your food, do your best and if you are a believer, ask God to give you the strength. There are great recipes on the sparkpeople website. I make most recipes with lots of extra veggies, zucchini, red peppers, onions, anything I can find. I use a lot of chicken, ground turkey, a little salmon. I also eat 2 plain greek yogurts a day sweetened with truvia and 2 lower sugar fruits (berries, apples) and lots of water. Would your insurance cover a dietician appointment? Do it now so you don't have to go on more meds. You are worth it!!!

Morning Erie folks. It is 4 am and as usual I did not sleep well. Maybe about 5 hrs total. Maybe a nap. Got new my blood work came back and everything out of wack. I thought stress was cause of sugar being high but guess it dosen't work that way. I was down 20 lbs in weight from last yr and am now on vapor4life (electronic smokes) for 7 weeks but didn't help. Soooo that being said on Friday all new meds will be delivered and what I really need is to find some easy recipes. I am caregiver to my 91 yr old Mom so I have plenty of time to cook(a great passion being Italian:) .I have set some small goals for now. One question before I leave you for awhile. I sooo love diet orange pop. Is it really bad and do I need to drop it altogether and will drinking lots of water help? BYW sugar was 301:( TG no insulin. ) They are giving me a month to get on track and hope numbers go down.

Welcome!

The Erie group covers lots of territory and it is hard to meet up with people here. We are a pretty quiet bunch. Good Luck with your journey and share your motivations and challenges with us!

Dear Yenduchaka and Jay Jay,
Welcome to both of you. I think Sparkpeople is great. It has so many features and it's FREE! I have been a member for about 9 months and have joined several teams. The Erie Sparkers has a few active members but not too many but maybe we can change that. I also belong to the 17 Day Diet team which is the greatest diet that I follow which allows for very little sugar/flour which works for me and 50+ since that's my age range. I've lost 20 pounds since joining and have about 10-12 to go. I love to exercise at the Eastside Y doing y pump, zumba, water aerobics, pilates and walking. I am retired since 2009 so I have lots of free time so I empathize with your busy-ness as you go to school. I look forward to hearing all about you so give us a little background on what your goals are.

Hi! My name is Jay Jay and I live in Erie......I am from NY but moved to Erie with my fiance, who is from the Pittsburgh area, about 6 years ago. I love it here but it has been hard to really make many friends. Probably because all I do is work and go to college. I am finishing my bachelor degree in nursing at Behrend and then I am going on for my Masters probably at Pitt online. I joined SP about a year ago but I have been a slacker and I am trying to get myself motivated to get started! I am glad to be a part of a group from Erie and I look forward to getting to know all of you emoticon

Hi all,

I've been a member of SP for a little over a year, but I'm new to this team. I had no idea there was a team for Erie! I live near Albion, so technically not in Erie, but I figure the fact that I'm still in Erie County makes me a qualified member.

I'm looking forward to getting to know you all.

Lou,
I wish I could lend you a pool. Eastside Y has 4, 2 inside and 2 outside. I've never done well working out at home. I like the companionship of the other people. Nice that you can work from home, though. My son borrowed a stationary bike and he decided that when he is doing his computer work or gaming, he is going to pedal away. Just a thought....

I am trying to fit Y time in, I will have to re-arrange things to get it done. Between home work outs, road workouts, and well, working from home (yes I am lucky enough to get to do that) the Y seems like a dream. I wish our Y (edinboro) had a pool, but oh well. LOL One day I shall manage to work it in.

Peace everyone

We're growing :=) Us Erie Sparkers can do it! Datma, I understand what you mean about the Y. My time is my own, kids are grown and out of the house and I'm retired so it is just part of my daily routine. I'm glad you found something that works for you. Joy, welcome and Lou, keep it going!! And I have lots of people that could use SP too. Happy Easter week all.

East of the village (btw Davison and Highmeyer). I used to go to the Y for years. Once the kids were old enough to leave at home, I would leave the house around 6:30 a.m. when my husband left for work. I'd work out & be home showering by the time the kids were awake, fed, and starting school (we homeschool). Then the oldest son got old enough to come with me to work out. The morning got longer and less efficient. Then the second-oldest started coming with me, and the morning trainer was a real sweetheart and told me I could bring my youngest to sit in her office & do schoolwork while the boys and I worked out. That worked for about a year, but I could never get out the door as early as I used to, and the workouts were getting longer and longer while yielding less results, simply due to having all three kids along, waiting for machines to be available, etc.

Then my husband got switched to second shift, and suddenly we weren't a morning-oriented household anymore. It was very difficult to make it to the Y early enough to get in a good workout before the late-morning crowd came through, making it tough to find open machines. We finally realized we were paying for a membership that we weren't using. It was just too expensive, and the cost kept going up. I couldn't take as many of the group classes as I wanted to, because my day is not really my own, and many of the classes were offered at times I needed to be home.

Now, I exercise at home, doing a variety of things as time and practicality allows. It should get easier now that the weather is turning nicer, since I can ride my bike. Just trying to fit things in when I can.

west or east of the village? I live in Hbck too and do my workouts at the eastside Y. I do zumba, y pump, pilates, water aerobics. Working on the last 15 or so pounds. Just went to the Chinese buffet, didn't do too bad there. They had fresh strawberries, pineapple, cantaloupe and I selected chicken and some veggies and water to drink. Could have been worse.

I'm in Harborcreek, a little past the village.

So far, I'm logging in what I'm eating (I really like the nutrition tracker) and trying to fall within the proper ranges of calories, protein, fat, & carbs. Our main meal of the day is "lupper" (around 1 p.m.) since my hubby works evening shift -- so I tailor my evening meal around what I have remaining in each category on the tracker. It seems to be working so far. I don't have a formal eating plan, but we do try to eat more fresh vegetables than we used to, we cook almost all of our meals at home, and we don't buy box mixes or over-processed things as a general rule. We certainly don't manage to always eat healthy, but cooking whole foods puts us ahead of the game most of the time.

We're trying to teach our kids to eat healthier as we learn more about what works and what's good for us. All three of them (18, 16, & 11) cook and are usually up to the challenge of trying new things -- our 11yo daughter still isn't quite as adventurous as the older boys are, but she knows the rule: what we make is what we all eat. We figure this will eventually translate into a broader palate for all of them. The oldest has always been willing to try new foods, and the middle child WAS an extremely picky eater for years (picture a child having a buffet in front of him at a wedding/restaurant and only coming away with two soft dinner rolls on his plate), but is now willing to try just about any food once, liking more of them than not. So we have high hopes for our little gal in the Broad Palate Department.

Exercise has been slower to become routine. Or anything other than sparse. I've gone through phases in life where I've exercised regularly, faithfully, unwillingly, socially, happily, etc., so I know I can do it. I've found a few things I like to do at home (Zumba or Just Dance on the wii, biking around Harborcreek) but just need to make them a priority, even if it's for short periods of time.

Welcome Datmama,
Glad you've joined the Erie Sparkers team. We are pretty small but it's nice to know others in your city are on SP. What part of Erie do you live in? What type of eating/exercise plan are you following?

Hi all,

I'm Lynda, and fairly new to SparkPeople. I joined in January of this year but didn't really get into the swing of things until February. I'm just doing the basics so far, checking in each day to log in my nutrition and the sporadic occasions when I manage to fit in some exercise.

I like everything I've found on the site so far, and am encouraged by the number of people here who are quick to put a positive spin on things, even when all doesn't go according to plan.

welcome, fellow YMCAer. I work out at the Eastside Y and occasionally visit the Glenwood with friends. What do you do there? I do zumba, y pump, pilates, & water aerobics. I'm much older than you (kids are grown & I'm a grandma 3--almost 4 times). Sounds like you have a great plan and that the Erie Sparkers are growing again. Lou, we're getting more teammates.

Hi, I live near the Glenwood YMCA in Erie. I got started on my weight loss journey when my co-workers at Bliley Electric desided to have two biggest loser contests last spring. After winning them both, I joined sparks that fall to keep my motivation going. I try and use the pool and gym a few times a week, chase my 5 year old, and have really cut down on my portion/calorie intake. Saves lots of money too. Plan on getting my tryglycerides checked once I reach my goal weight to see what goals I may need to set next.

welcome from me too. What part of Erie are you from? I'm from Harborcreek. I am on this team and also 17 Day Diet team which is the diet I'm following. Also, one for my age group with the amount of weight loss I have. It's a great idea to join several teams for maximum support and also like minded people that understand your special struggles. Check out the different options. Keep posting and one step at a time you will meet your goals.

Thanks for the warm welcome KT. Glad to see there is activity on here. I will try to be as active as I can with posts and what not, it helps keep me motivated, and, I need all the motivation I can get. Week one has seen it's ups and downs so far. I know my page says I joined a while ago, but I haven't really done anything until just last week. Hope the group keeps moving forward and glad to have a place to call "Home"

:-)

Welcome Lou and Simplee. Glad to see Erie is becoming a little more active again. I'm from Harborcreek, doing the 17 Day Diet and lots of exercise. Hopefully we can support one another on here.

Hi,
I just joined SparkPeople tonight and am hoping it can help me reach of goal of losing 25 pounds and getting healthy. I am in my late 50's, retired, and a grandmother. I am a daily exerciser but have been struggling with losing the weight. I tried the food log and loved how it analyzed the food I ate. Wish me luck and I look forward to getting to know some other locals.

Hi Everyone! My name is Janina and I am relatively new to Erie. Just moved here in December and love the area. My husband and I live near Northwest Pennsylvania Collegiate Academy and we have an 11 year old son. Would like to meet other members in the area for socializing and motivation. I love cooking, wines, music and movies. Enjoy going to the YMCA and visiting the areas wineries. I hope to lose 20-30 more pounds but mostly I want to be healthier and happier in my own skin :)

Hey all again! I'm gonna reintro myself since its been 6 months since i was on here last. I've been in SC and TX becoming a medic in the US Army. I'm 23 years old, living in Wattsburg. I'm a machinist until next September when I'll be a student in nursing at Edinboro U. (so if anyone has any study tips that i could be using before i start i would appreciate it!) I'm the Momma of 3 puppies (Dachshunds) and I want a Chihuahua soon. I was at my goal weight before i left, but being in the army has put about 30 lbs back on me. Some of its muscle, some isn't. MRE's are not good for you... So i want to drop atleast 20.I'd like to do it before Jan, we'll see what happens!

Hello Erie Sparkers members (new and old)!

I've been away for quit a while now and have decided to get serious. In November 2008 I have a spinal cord stimulator put and then Sept. 2, 2009 I had to have the pusle generator move to a different location due to pain. I haven't been active in fact I have gain more weight and have gotten more depressed over it.

Right know I am home for another week until I can return to work so I am bored and eating everything that is not good for me.

I have decided that I need to quite making excuses for not watching what I eat and getting in any kind of excercising. I keep giving myself the pep talks but the old habits are hard to get over.

I just went through a life changing issue with our oldest daughter and see how she can make changes which has inspired me to do better. After (4) years of drug abuse she got help and in Dec 2009 she will graduate Tri-State with her LPN. I am so very proud of her. She drives me nuts with her medical talks but I know she is only looking out for my health.

I hope to get to me all the new faces and I hope that we can get together and get healthier.

Hello, hello, hello. Where is everybody?
I'm Crissy. I used to be thefuturemrsb, but after a long absence I wanted a fresh slate.
I have a weird schedule so I don't get to participate in a lot of group activities but I'd love it if we could "re-spark" this group and get things going full force. It's been a fairly mild summer and I haven't gotten out nearly as much as I would have liked to lately. I'm getting ready to change that though.
I am 26 and have two beautiful baby boys, T, who'll be 4 on Wed, and L, who is 2. Okay, okay, they aren't babies anymore but I am in denial. They'll always be my little guys. I want to show them by example that being active is fun, and eating healthy can be delicious. Who's with me?

Hi I'm Sandi and I've been on Spark for a little while and just found this team. I'm from the Mercer, PA area so about 45 minutes away. I'm 36 mother of 2 teenagers and off for the summer as I work at the kids' school. It's been easy to stay on track while I had no other burdens but school starts in 26 days and I'm getting nervous!

Hi All! I'm Bri. I'm actually a former member of this team (timsbride816) and used SP to lose 50 pounds leading up to my wedding last August. I am now ready to return, starting over after pregnancy. Our little girl is due any day now, and I wanted to get a jump start on the eating healthier aspect of things!

Hi everyone. I'm Beth. I'm 36 with a husband and 5 kids. My current weight is 170 and I'm trying to get in the 115-120 range. My weight is not important. I just want to look and feel good in my own skin. I go to the Glenwood branch of the YMCA four or five days per week.

I go to the Build Your Bod gym which is on 26th right before Walnut Creek hill. It is with the Sun Your Buns tanning salon. I really like it there. It's quiet, not a whole lot of people to worry about. Might be a place you could try out, Amy, if you live anywhere near there. They offer a free week if you go in and ask for it.

Hi Amy and Emily ... it's good to see new faces on our team.

Emily ... Not working really does make it difficult at times to stay on track ... too much time on your hands to think about food! I am also hoping that my new part time summer job helps in that area. I've been off for 6 months.

Amy ... I'm always looking for walking partners ... you can bring the kids along and we could walk around a playground somewhere. It would be great to get back to regular walking again.

Try to remember that the reason for joining the gym is to improve the way you look and feel by getting some regular exercise ... if we were all perfect, there wouldn't be a need for joining a gym!

Good luck to both of you ... hope to see you around Erie sometime.

I am 38 years old, married, and have 4 children ages 12, 9, 6, and 3. I own 2 day care centers. Looking for a place to motivate me in this new adventure and I hope this is it. I love to walk and would like to join a gym, but I don't want to do it by myself. Very self conscious of my looks and i would love to change that. Hoping to meet new people who share the same goals.

Hello everyone! My name is Emily. I am 32 years-old, single, and right now looking for a job as so many other people are. I try to go to the gym 4 or 5 days a week and I really enjoy lifting weights. I've been maintaining at the moment, but hopefully when I find a job, I can become a little bit more regular and disciplined with my workouts and start to lose again. It's nice to "meet" all of you.

Hello! I'm a 37 year old single mom of a 3 year old son. I quit smoking a couple months ago and have I put on some weight since then. My goal is to loose 20 to 25 pounds. I've only been at this a couple days... but I'm struggling... it's the sweets that are killing me. I'm so glad it's warmer b/c my son and I like to spend lots of time being active outside. I'm really glad to be here!

Hello everyone!

I'm Andi, a 34 year old mom of a 3 year old girl(as of tomorrow! eek!), we just moved back to the area last year after a 8 year tour in Cleveland. ;)

I work in retail management...so juggling my [rather demanding] job, my husband, my daughter, my house, and my desire to better myself is rapidly driving me insane. Unfortunately, I also battle with depression, so keeping an upbeat attitude is extremely difficult and I tend to get down and give up very easily. I'm hoping that Sparkpeople (and all of you, lol) will help keep me focused on the end prize and stay on track.

My long-term goal is to lose 50 more pounds and get *below* my wedding weight. That would be fab. Heck, I'd be thrilled to be in a size clothing that didn't start with "W", hehe.

So here we go!

Hi everyone!

I am a 23 year old who just moved back to Erie, PA.

I currently only have a part time job (while looking for my dream one) and have decided to utilize this time to enrich my life in every way. Ths includes my health.

I am currently 298 lbs (yikes!) and just signed up for a local YMCA (erie) with my boyfriend.

If there are any ladies in the area that would like to workout together(At the Y, or just going for a walk), send me a message! While my boyfriend is a great partner, he is thin and loses weight easily ( I am his opposite!).

Hello Everyone! I am Renee. I am from Cambridge Springs. A little south, but close enough! It has been a long struggle, but I am starting to get the hang of things now. I walk regularly, love the fact that Spark has videos for me to do, and have entirely changed my eating habits. I have a long way to go yet, but I can an least see and end through the trees!

Hi everyone! I'm new to Sparkpeople, but I've been reading the blog for a while now. I'm Katie, born and raised in Erie and did a stint of 3 years in Virginia, but Erie sucked me back in! I'm looking to maintain a healthy weight and lifestyle- currently am 5'5" and weight 140lbs. I go to Curves 3, sometimes 4 days a week and think it's great! Glad to see that there's an Erie group!

As the weather improves we will be having a group walk on Saturday mornings at Presque Isle ... 8am. Watch our boards for the thread "Let's plan a team walk" ... that is where anyone can post walking times and places.

G'day everyone! My name is Becky & I've not only been MIA for the past 3 months, but actually out of the country! I just got back from Australia on 15 March & I REALLY need to sort myself out! emoticon I've been living the vacation life for the past 3 months- trying (and re-trying and then gorging on) wonderful, exotic foods; skipping exercise time to enjoy a lounge on the beach emoticon ; and opting to dine on fried calamari & beer emoticon with my boyfriend at the pub rather than prepare something on the BBQ at home. All I can say is thank God I can't drive a standard transmission auto with my left hand & I was forced to walk many places! Needless to say, whatever weight I had lost before going to OZ found me & followed me back!! =O

But I'm ready to re-start & get things back in check! Besides, I'm hearing wedding bells sooner rather than later in my future... ;-) emoticon

I can't wait to catch up with everyone! Hopefully we can plan a dinner & walk in the near future- I have SOO many pictures & stories to share!!! I'm looking forward to seeing everyone again... and meeting some new team members! Cheers! emoticon

Hi! I joined SP almost a year ago, and just love it!! I came across this group while searching for groups closer to where I live.

My husband and I live in Warren with our dog, Brandy.

Hello everyone, I am a returning Sparkpeople member, but new to this group.
My name is Annette, I am 37 and married with 4 children: 18, 16, 14, and soon to be 12(March 10).

I have decided I just need to do this and quit putting it off all the time. I bought a membership to Snap 24 hr. Fitness Center so that I can go anytime I wish.
I am so busy I really need that flexibility. I am a full-time student attending Tri-State Business Institute for HIT(Health Information Technician) and I work 3rd shift at Panera Bread as a baker.

I love Sparkpeople because everyone is always so helpful and I know where I can go if I need a little motivation.

See everyone soon!

Hello everyone. I am a returning Sparkpeople member. I quit a while ago when I got frustrated that I wasn't seeing results. Since then, of course I've gained weight. However, I just had a baby and in the 12 days since her birth I have lost all the baby weight and I'm using that as a jumpstart to keep going.

I'm 26, married, and I'm now a parent of a daughter. I work for Erie County and keep myself fairly busy. I love using Sparkpeople and I'm very excited to be back on here. I'm also glad to see that so many other Erie residents are on this site.

It is so exciting to have so many new faces ... and returning ones. I hope you find everything you are looking for ... if not just ask and maybe some of our long standing members can help.

We have 4 January mini challenge directed at getting us back to basics ... we are using that along with the coach nicole's January new You bootcamp and contest. If you are interested in the boot camp here is the link: www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/groups_i

In February we will start a new challenge ... or series of challenges.

Once the weather gets better I will start walking at Presque Isle again and am always looking for company ... and we will also plan other walking activities. Right now I'm trying to start a 'mall walkers' group ... let me know your day and time preferences if you are interested.

Again ... emoticon Back Crissy and Carra ... and emoticon to the group Kelly, Sue, Jessica and Slip,

Hi, my name is Jessica and I'm new here. I'm still finding my way around the website. One of the struggles that I know I will have is finding the time for myself. Some of you might be in the same boat and I would appreciate any suggestions. I'm a single mom, I work and I am a full time student in my Senior year. Right now I am a waitress at a place that has very little healthy options (and those that you think are healthy actually have alot of fat too.) I have lost 40 pounds on Weight Watchers and of course, gained it all back plus more. I have never really participated in a forum before so I'm excited to see how it works.

Hi - I'm new to the group, I love to walk (when I have the time) I live SE of I-90 towards Wattsburg. I have been trying to loose these pounds for a year! I like to walk the Bayfront to Behrend Campus. I don't have problems drinking the water, but I also like everything else...LOL

I definitely wouldn't mind a mall walk, at least that's something I could drag the kids along too. My gym membership is going unused since I still don't have childcare for daytime hours. I really should have done more research before I signed up for my gym. I really would have been better off getting a ymca membership. At least I would have be able to use it. I don't think I can get out of my current contract though. Bummer.

Crissy ... now that the holidays are over, I'm actually considering going to the Mall! I don't like the crowds during holiday shopping, but wouldn't mind taking a "Mall Walk" sometime. Let me know if you want to walk ...

I'm Crissy, I've been on Spark and Erie Sparkers for a while now I've been missing in action for the past few months. I let myself go for the holidays and put back on half of the weight that I lost before. I'm so mad at myself and having such a hard time getting back on track with a healthy lifestyle. I am DETERMINED to do it though, especially since I've seen what my friend wants me to wear to be her maid of honor @ her October wedding. I plan on looking fabulous!!! So, me in a nutshell? I AM the nutshell. LOL. Engaged to be married to the love of my life, we've been together 8 years, and we have two adorable children together, boys 3 and 1 1/2. I work outside the home 40 hrs a week, and the other 128 hours in the week? I work at home. Being a mommy and housewife is more than a full time job. There is a lot of things I feel like I can't control in my life, but being healthy is not one of them. This is IT, the beginning, the start of a healthy happy me. Who's along for the ride?

Hello everyone. Hope your New Year was great. Mine was good. My husband and I spent it @ home with my son and his friend. Brad316 and I are doing this together. We both need to lose a lot of weight. We started SparksPeople last year and did lose some weight, but lost sight of what we were doing. And that was changing our lives forever, not just losing weight. So 2009 is going to be a life change not just another diet. Our health is both on the line and neither of us can chance the risk of not losing the weight.

We will be married for 2 years in May (2009). I have a 14 year old son. We live in Elgin (Corry). I am unemployed currently, like a lot of Erie Co. residents. Thank god my husband is working.

I would rather forget 2008. It started out with a bang and ended rather explosively too. It's definately been one hectic year with our family members. But that is a different time.

I of course have a lot of time on my hands being unemployed, so losing weight is my job right now. I will keep in touch. Good luck everyone, if I can lose 14 lbs in one week we all can do it!!!

So ... I haven't been missing in action, but I have been lax during December. Actually I haven't done to bad, ... but a medication change has increased my water retention and I'm dealing with swelling in my ankles and knees. It had me a little worried when I put on 14 pounds in 2 days, but I've managed to lose 1/2 of the 14 pounds ... and hope watching the sodium and drinking my 8 a day will take care of the rest. Anything on top of that will have to come from good eating and exercise.

I live in Millcreek out by K-mart west ... have 4 kids ... 2 daughters, 1 son-in-law, and 1 son. I'm sort of a stay at home housewife and mom ... due to being laid off ... but I've really enjoyed the time at home with DH who spent all of 2007 and most of 2008 traveling to Mexico (3 wks each month) for his job.

SparklPeople and the friends I have made her have been my lifeline ... so THANKS EVERYONE ... and have a fun time re-creating yourself in 2009!

WELCOME SUE ... I hope you will be active on our team pages ... we try to give as much support and motivation as possible. Let us know if you need anything ... or have any suggestions for us.

Think about joining our mini-challenge (starts tomorrow) for a jump start for the new year ... I'll be working on a new 3 week team challenge to start on January 9.

Hello! Happy New Year to you. My name is Sue and I live in Corry. I am a special education teacher in Corry School District. I love my job and students. I am married and my husband works in Meadville. We have two children. Our daughter is a French teacher in Greensburg, PA and our son is senior at Penn State.

My daughter is getting married in August and so I would love to lose the extra weight. I have followed Sparkpeople for a year, but when I decided to get on that scale - reality hit and I knew that for my health I needed to do something about it. I hope that with support I will be able to lose some weight for the wedding but most importantly to aid with my health.

This is a great place to tell us a little about yourself ...
If you are a new member we want to get to know you better.
If you have been an ErieSparker for a while and have been missing in action ... this is a good place to re-introduce yourself and let us know what new goals you have planned for 2009.
