I'm still here too if anyone wants to get together here on the east side (way east side!) December is upon us and you know that means lots of busy-ness. But let me know if you see a day or two coming up that you are free to take a walk near Boring/Gresham.

Hospitals are terrific for traumatic care; for acute care. They do a really, really good job in saving lives when it’s a sudden bleeding emergency. But in terms of chronic care, they’re terrible; (that is) in terms of the illnesses that most people have, endure, that cost the most money, that last the longest and ultimately die from. -Dr. Andrew Saul

Scuba, the next available day I have that the weatherman predicts as being "partly cloudy" with no rain or snow would be this coming Tuesday. Wednesday is full of T-day prep and Thursday, obviously, is no good. Friday's prediction is "mostly cloudy with chance of rain". That sounds iffy to me but we can keep that day in mind.

Let me know if either of these days work for you and if not, we should keep in touch in case a good day for a walk opens up.

You can send me a private message on my sparkpage if you like.

Thanks Guys for the great Welcome, still struggling thru this thing trying to figure it out, The one thing I can say about Grief is it does change focus, I will try to not give up on this site, I would love to walk the trail I do it often with my black lab Sammy :) but usually alone as I have not found someone close to walk with regularly,

SCUBADIVELADY, I am so sorry about your painful experiences. I am so glad however, that you joined us here on SP. I live close to you in Boring. If we ever get a clear sky I would love to go for a walk; maybe along the Springwater trail and to downtown Gresham for coffee or lunch. I would love to get to know you more.

So many of the Portland team members live closer to downtown Portland so getting together with them is sometimes a struggle for me (I don't have much extra gas money lol!)

Welcome

I am sorry about your sister passing. As for your feeling overwhelmed with this board all I can say, I was too. But I was consistent everyday getting on the boards and learning my way around. In short order I learned what I needed to get myself started. The most important thing for me was to build my life-changing foundation and build from there. I set many short-term goals, Tracked my ford & fitness everyday without fail. I have been doing this for 6 mos and still login religiously and complete my food & fitness tracker. I read several Blogs and SparkPeople articles. It all helps build on my foundation and make lifestyle changes.
Being frustrated is good because it means you will concentrate more on the task at hand. Good luck on your lifestyle journey. It does get better, I promise. Don't give up. You are welcome to go to my SparkPage and read my Blogs of my journey.

I am finding this board a bit overwelming and hoping I get the hang of it very soon as I have heard good things about this sparkpeople thing, I am struggling thru some personal issues with the loss of my sister and my Daughter and not regaining and continuig to loose the weight. I live in Gresham and am normally a very active person, I am unemployed and that seems to be good for greif recovery but not in other ways, I am excited to give this a try and move forward in my life. I love to scuba dive, Hunt, camp, fish and walk, I have 2 more children that are local and grown and one grandaughter I help care for,
