Welcome. I think you will find that SparkPeople will be a great source for you to learn lifeskills. The key is to log in all food everyday. There are a few building blocks to complete the base to built from. I have been with Spark since Jan 2010 and have managed to lose 51 lbs. It is the most fun diet I have done. It is not so much of a diet as it is making good food choices and staying within a calorie range. My suggestion is to read all the articles you can get your hands on.
Just joined this morning. I'm ready to learn the skills to live a healthier life, and looking forward to losing weight gained during the stress of divorce. A diagnosis of osteoarthritis has slowed down my activity level, but not my love for outdoor activities (mostly walking and cycling). My doctor worries about my cholesterol level, so the changes I learn here will hopefully help with that. Seems like enough of an intro for now.
