The key to this website, as you found in the book, is to be consistent and accountable. Login everyday to SparkPeople fill in your Nutrition page and Fitness page. From Spark I have learned what to eat and how much to eat. You will find from various article that it is not one thing you change in your diet that makes the majority difference. I thought Carbs was the enemy but learned to make it my friend. I have a great workout program that requires me to eat more Carbs than I was used to. In your body it is like a fire and the Carbs is the kindling to help burn the calories.
Exercise is the other key to losing weight. Even if it starts out at 10 min. in the morning 10 min mid day and 10 min. in the evening, as long as it is consistent you will be building up your metabolism. I(t is suggested an aggregate of 30 min,/day.
Good luck to you in this venture. Read all the articles on this website you can get your hands on. Read peoples Blogs and their experiences. It helps to know you are not alone. One fun way is to join a Challenge on the various teams.
