I also recommend the :emotional eating team." They have great resources for helping you avoid eating when you are bored or stressed. And I highly suggest that you buy a couple of sets of measuring cups so you can start measuring your food. It's a pain and makes more dishes :) but it was hugely eye opening for me! And you only have to do it until you begin to recognize what "real" portion sizes are! Good luck!
Chelsey, I have the same problem; I eat very healthy foods but I eat too much and for the wrong reasons.
Best of health to you and know that SparkPeople will be here to give you lots of encouragement. Use the nutrition tracker and you can't fail.
Check out the "Clean Eating and Recipes" team--we are a lot of fun and information.
Hospitals are terrific for traumatic care; for acute care. They do a really, really good job in saving lives when it's a sudden bleeding emergency. But in terms of chronic care, they're terrible; (that is) in terms of the illnesses that most people have, endure, that cost the most money, that last the longest and ultimately die from. -Dr. Andrew Saul
I am like most I feel where I have tried and tried to get my weight under control. But with continual gain and the fact I'll be turning 21 next week and graduating college soon with a BFA I feel it has become a must do, not a will do anymore. I am going to be getting my master's in teaching and I want to be able to have the energy and health I need to be the best teacher I can for my kids.
My biggest challenge is even though I eat relatively health I eat more then I need to, beyond a normal portion. I also am a person who eats when there bored.
I know this is going to be a wonderful and fantastic experience and I can't wait to get started, I already have. I hope to stay positive and be the best that I can, and taking this life changing experience with you all.
