Portland is a great town, lots of hiking and activities to do right around the area. Definitely take advantage of all the Farmer's market that opened this month!
Welcome to Portland; it's the BEST! So much to do, see, enjoy. Such a grand array of cultural events. The best culinary choices anywhere. Fresh, local, organic, and sustainable are common words around here and the farmer's markets around the area and even downtown are fabulous! Watch for them to start popping up soon.
Hospitals are terrific for traumatic care; for acute care. They do a really, really good job in saving lives when it’s a sudden bleeding emergency. But in terms of chronic care, they’re terrible; (that is) in terms of the illnesses that most people have, endure, that cost the most money, that last the longest and ultimately die from. -Dr. Andrew Saul
I just arrived on Sunday and hope to live here for sometime. Portland seems like a good city, and I'm looking forward to getting to know it, and getting to know healthy and better foods! I hear Portland has much of that.
I have been on spark people for over a year, and in that time I lost 50 lbs. Well I lost 60 but gained 10 back recently. On Sparkpeople, I'm the leader of two teams, Bears and Single Gay men. However, my involvement on in all this has not been active the last five months.
Over the past five months, with my basset hound, I bicycled from Chicago to San Fran. We crossed 3700 miles, visited lots of friends, and ate lots of junk food. (now that will stop.)
Currently, while I'm in Portland, I'll be looking for a job, but mostly I'll be working on my basset hound's autobiography.
Looking forward to being on this team and getting to know the area and the people.
Recovery is Everything!
