Welcome to SparkPeople. Many people have found the "trick" they needed to lose weight and find renewed health. When I used the nutrition tracker I was very successful. I struggle with my own lack of self-control and presently I am not using the tracker. But I do use the teams and threads to stay connected--that seems to be the thing that helps the most. You can learn so much from conversing with others that share your same issues.
Be sure to create a "SparkPage". It's easy to start one and you can add stuff to it in time. Also, be sure to get into a few teams that interest you. I am a member of several teams that like to talk about healthy, natural foods and living. If that interests you check out "Eating Clean", "Clean Eats Recipes", "Natural Healing" among others. Also you can find teams in your own age group that have approximately the same amount of weight to lose as you.
Lots to explore here. Have fun!
Hospitals are terrific for traumatic care; for acute care. They do a really, really good job in saving lives when it’s a sudden bleeding emergency. But in terms of chronic care, they’re terrible; (that is) in terms of the illnesses that most people have, endure, that cost the most money, that last the longest and ultimately die from. -Dr. Andrew Saul
