Hospitals are terrific for traumatic care; for acute care. They do a really, really good job in saving lives when it's a sudden bleeding emergency. But in terms of chronic care, they're terrible; (that is) in terms of the illnesses that most people have, endure, that cost the most money, that last the longest and ultimately die from. -Dr. Andrew Saul
I've actually been a member of sparkpeople for a loooooong time. But I've only been in portland for over a year.
In the past, I wasn't able to really get into the website or getting healthy for that matter. Now, I have 50+ pounds to lose to get into my "optimal weight zone". I really don't know how I let myself get this way...probably by denial and ignoring it. I swear that my image of how I look is not the same as my image in the mirror...which is why I don't really like looking in the mirror.
Anywho, this time I'm hoping to find and build that ever so important support system to keep me motivated and on track to lose the weight and to keep it off.
I wish everyone a good and successful weight loss year and I hope that we can help each other.
