Hi, I too want to do better in 2010; living more closely to the ways I know are best for me. I screw up a lot and in the past 3 months have gained back the 10 pounds I lost through SparkPeople. I don't want to do the nutrition tracker thing again because for me it takes too much time. I cook all my meals myself and to try to pull together all the ingredients, weigh them out and figure out the nutritional details of each portion is just too darn time consuming and I want to live a more "normal" life!! It was good to do it for a while because I learned a lot about what I was eating. Now I know what I should be eating I just need to do it. Basically it boils down to more greens, less grains and smaller portions. sounds simple but in this food culture it's hard to stick to. Portland is so top notch with culinary delights and I love to cook!!
I also know that I need to exercise more.
What are your struggles? How long have you been in the Portland area? I live way out on the east end past Gresham near Mt. Hood. Have you been a member of SparkPeople long?
Hospitals are terrific for traumatic care; for acute care. They do a really, really good job in saving lives when it’s a sudden bleeding emergency. But in terms of chronic care, they’re terrible; (that is) in terms of the illnesses that most people have, endure, that cost the most money, that last the longest and ultimately die from. -Dr. Andrew Saul
