Hospitals are terrific for traumatic care; for acute care. They do a really, really good job in saving lives when its a sudden bleeding emergency. But in terms of chronic care, theyre terrible; (that is) in terms of the illnesses that most people have, endure, that cost the most money, that last the longest and ultimately die from. -Dr. Andrew Saul
Hi, all! Portland native here... 3rd generation Oregon native (and proud of it!!)! I live in Troutdale now, but it's close enough to count! :P I'm doing my best to NOT reach 300 by Christmas... My wife and I are starting the Spark diet on the first of December... just following what the nutrition and fitness trackers tell us to do, nothing too exciting! We have 1 daughter, who is 10 and the light of my life... we also have a cat, a dog, a few fish, and lots of dust bunnies!!
I love making things... carpentry, knitting, canning, crocheting, cooking, sewing... I just started spinning my own yarn and I'm going to try my hand at quilting and basket weaving soon!
The thing I love to make most of all, though, is BEER! I'm an avid homebrewer and total beer snob. I've even won a few medals!
I look forward to getting to know you all and I hope you have a great weekend!!
"The truth is that our finest moments are most likely to occur when we are feeling deeply uncomfortable, unhappy or unfulfilled. For it is only in such moments, propelled by our discomfort, that we are likely to step out of our ruts and start searching for different ways or truer answers."
