When I began to truly try to loose weight, the first 3 months I lost weight easily (but slowly). After that it moved slower (as in "a snails pace" was faster than my weight loss).
I say go for your goal! Just factor in that you will need to change your diet and exercise route/style about every two to three months. If you don't make your goal by the correct date, just change the date and remember that you had already reached the goal (by loosing weight, and becoming fit .. the rest is just a number.)
Good luck with your goals! 2 lbs a week until November is an aggressive goal. It's a good goal and 2 lbs a week is still considered healthy. I just don't want you to become discouraged down the road and give up. Just stay focused on the goal and keep working at it.
For me SparkPeople helps to constantly remind me that this is not a diet, it's a lifestyle change. Diets only work in the short term. The main goal is to become a healthier person. Weight loss just happens to be a positive side effect :)
Life ain't so bad at all...if you live it off the wall
Good luck with your goals. I think my best resource here has been my team of people who all started the same week as I did. We were all facing the same issues at the beginning and could discuss it. Then also the food tracking and suggestions. Best wishes and welcome!
I hope this site will help me move toward my weight loss and health goals! As with most of us, I've tried lots of things. Currently I'm doing hypnosis. I've enjoyed it but I want to move faster. I think this site might help. I set my goal to lose 67 pounds by my birthday this November. I don't even know what 140 lbs. looks like on me, I haven't been there in so long! But that's losing 2 lbs. per week, so I'm hoping that is reasonable.
