Hello and Welcome to the team. Clever name -- Kick Fat Sass....lol. You're right -- there is so much on this site and that can seem overwhelming at first, but it's really good because you can learn something new every day here. I would have to say the nutrition tracker is number 1 in my opinion. So good to be able to enter the foods you are eating and even calculate the calories and nutrients in your own recipes. Please let us know if you have any questions, and I know you will enjoy SparkPeople!

Hi it's my first day and I am excited. Man there is so much on this site I dont know where to start. My hope is to find support and be supportive to those going through this struggle.

Paula summed it up great--the trackers help you focus. Portion control, drinking the water, and exercise seem to be the keys.

Hi Amanda, and welcome to SparkPeople, and the Waco team! Yes--the free aspect of sparkpeople is really nice and the quality of the articles and the food tracker is better than on many sites you have to pay for. The support of friendly people who are here for the same reason is icing on the cake!

My advice for someone starting out is to take it slow--go through the stages....read the articles...check in daily... Use the food tracker and start entering your favorites..find several teams that "speak" to you and take it one step at a time!
