Hi All!

Hello. I am Ally. A current VB school bus driver. Gained a lot of weight driving a bus since it is so stressful. Driving and watching kids at the same time. It's not an easy thing to do.

Hello, I'm new to the area, but not to sparkpeople- I've had an account in the past but didn't really do much with it. I am looking to be more active (in real life and on here) to lose weight! I haven't been to Mt. Trashmore yet but its something I need to check out. I always have my little guy in tow, so if there are any other stroller-pushers out there I would love to buddy up! emoticon

I'm Melissa, I have been a member of Spark since about 10 days ago. I love this site, it helps me stay focused so much. When I first joined I was completely leery, but then fell head over heels by day 3. I just joined the spark coach officially, I've been doing that since day one, I totally swear by that. But anyways, I'm here trying to lose about 40 pounds at least, and trying to get healthy. I live near the court house in VB. I'm looking forward to a great summer! Good luck to you all!

I have been overweight all my life. I just joined people recently. My goals are to get healthy, feel better, get off medications and control my Crohn's as well as eliminate the diabetes type 2. I am a geek by day and writer by night. I love to read, crochet and I hate lawn work. I also kill plants with just a look. LOL! I live in the Salem area of Va Beach. Good luck to all.

Good afternoon,

My name is Chris and I am just starting out here on Spark-people.com, and so far so good. I started my life of fitness about 1 1/2 ago when I was tipping the scales at 320lbs. I was very unhappy and was also scared that I would not be around for my children if I stayed this weight. So I started a diet called the Unofficial Mayo Clinic diet and wow did it work. I am now weighing in at 242 and just ran my first Half Marathon September 2, 2012. I have found that it is much easier to loose weight and train with people that support you being in your networking community. Now that I found this web site I think it will be even easier to complete my goals in the near future. I'm looking forward to hearing from others that like to run and that even possibly live in my area. I would love to have steady running partners that are as serious as I am when it comes to running.

Hi Everyone! I'm military and working on dropping some weight (permanately) as since I have moved to the states (I used to live in Japan) I find myself yo-yo 'ing a lot. My husband and I both try to stay active and I have different levels of success depending on a multitude of factors. I've re-dedicated myself to SP probably about 4 months ago now and the scale hasn't budged too much. The accountability of tracking every day is helping me though and my husband has found a new weight trainer which has changed things up for me and hopefully help me blast through a weight plateau to finally reach my goal.

Hopefully I'll see you beach side!

My name is Melanie. I came to Virginia Beach four years ago when the Navy transferred me from Charleston (I'm now out and in college). Since I transferred, I went from 130 - 203lbs and size 8 - 16. I've been horrible about keeping myself accountable for my weight and wanted to change that, so here I am! It's great to meet you all!

Hi everyone and thank you SkinnyPowell1 for inviting me.
I've been on this site for a couple of months. Just a quick background. I lost my son 09/10/09. I had dinner with him on 09/09/09 and he died in his sleep that night. He was 26 and in very good shape. By the end of November I hit 300 lbs and could not believe it. I started my own program and lost 75 lbs by July 2010. I did well until winter came and the depression deepened. By Sept 2011 I was up to 270. I had a hip replaced at the end of that moth and while laid up gained another 10 lbs.
Jan 2,2012 at 280 I started my program again. I joined Healthy Weight in March and today I weigh 226. My goal is 225. I was wearing tight 44" pants and now my 40" pants keep sliding down. I'll be back in my 38" pants soon. I have a great medical support team, but I want to maintain my healthy lifestyle changes. I really want to be part of this team to help me.
