Hi Pam. Welcome to our group. To have big weight losses, you take a chance of gaining it back quicker and gaining back more. So taking it 1-2 pounds a week is the healthy way to go. In the beginning of this process, you might see a big drop and then you will equal out to about 1-2 pounds a week. The best way to do this is, work the spark for all it is worth. Eat your 6-8 veggies a day, weigh and measure all your food, drink your 8 + glass of water a day, eat your whole grains, and limit your meats to white meats (chicken, pork, fish, stuff like that) and exercise exercise exercise. AT least 10 minutes a day to start and work up to more. You will feel a big change. Remember the scale is not your friend. You might not see weight loss, but if you do your measurements, More than likely you will see more change there than the scale. So go with other success when the scale isn't moving. Other success are staying in your calorie range, getting your 8 glass of water in, your clothes are fitting better, your seeing changes in your body, and your feeling better.

Hi I am Stephanie. Nice to meet ya.

It only takes making that first step and then your on the journey of your life.

Hi Pam,

I use to be like that! But, I'm trying really hard to change that.

I use to think I could lose a 1 lbs. a day if I really, really tired... and when the scale didnt move fast enough, I figured it was easier to just be overweight. But I'm tired of thinking that way! Taking things a lot slower now. :)

I just signed up for this group... we should check in on each other. :)

I am hoping to be welcomed in to the group. I have alot to lose and have always gotten discouraged because I expect large weight drops at once. If I didn't lose, I would get discouraged and quit. I realize now, this is not the right approach. I need to take small steps and celebrate each one. My first goal is to use Spark people daily.
Thanks for listening!
