Hey Team! I'm a 26 year old nursing student with two young kids- 8 and 4. I have been a sparkmember for more than a year and I haven't tracked and exercised like I should have. I thought I was ready then, but I wasn't ready to commit. I am now! What's different? I don't know and I don't care. I still have the same reason I started off with, but now, I'm just ready. This past week I managed to lose 6 pounds! My goal is to lose 1 pound per week so that by then end of the summer I have lose 15 pounds and I am well on my way. I have 66 pounds left to go. I don't expect every week to be that amazing, but if I can lose at least one pound per week. I can be at my goal weight of 160 by my goal date which is 12/31/2015. I know that I can do it with God's Grace!
I weigh in every Sunday morning, first thing. So I'll make sure to post the result on here! Last week I started at 232. Today I am 226! Woo-hoo! Let's GO!

Hello everyone! I'm a 29 year old woman who has been married for 10 years. We have been blessed with 2 children, a 9 year old son and a 1 year old daughter. I've always been on the "chunky" side, but after giving birth to my son, I gained a lot of weight. It wasn't until after giving birth to my daughter that I weighed my heaviest...220 lbs. I was shocked that I had allowed myself to get like this. Shocked and disgusted. I've now lost 15 lbs, but I know that I have a very long road ahead of me. Can't wait to meet you all!

Hello. My name is Ola. I am coming back after losing 100 pounds and gaining it all back. A unique fact about me is that I am the one that started this group about over 6 years ago. I am so amazed that it grew to 16000 members. I love the positive influence of the posts and the management--beautiful.

Well. I am back 3 pounds less then what I started with in 2006 (279). By 2009, I had gotten down to 165. I want to tell you, it was wonderful and I want to get back there. So here I go. 1 pound a week. That is how I did it the last time, with God's help. I look forward to being successful.

Hi! My name is Therese, I'm swedish (so please excuse any wrong spelling, lol), I live in Tunisia and I have about 25 kg to lose.
Right now I'm following the lessons in "100 days of weight loss" by Linda Spangle, since I'm having trouble with the emotional aspect of eating.
I lost 20 kg in 2011-2012, but gained almost all of it back. I was only 10 kg away from my goal weight and I just gave up. Don't know why.
I have now lost 3.4 kg and I'm slowly getting into all this again, but I need accountability and support. I think part of the reason I gave up last time was because I stopped logging in here thinking I didn't need it, and that was a big mistake. The support here is amazing. emoticon

So anyway.. Thanks for having me on the team. emoticon

My name is Callie and I have 55 lbs to lose. I am off to a great start with SP.

I am currently doing three official SP challenges.

SP Official Healthy Cooking Challenge (in week THREE), SP Official 'Eat Up, Slim Down' Challenge (in week THREE), SP
Official Stress Busting Challenge (in week ONE), and SP Official Better Sleep Challenge (in week ONE)

Here are the changes I have made so far:
1. Planning meals now
2. Drinking 2.2 L of H2O per day
3. Keeping fruit in bowls throughout my house
Lastly, Tracking my food calories with (wow....lots of work there, but gotta do it!) week one of SP Official 'Eat Up, Slim Down' Challenge
4. Working out every day;-) AND sharing on SP about it;-)

Hi, I'm back. Hope to be able to stay involved with sparkpeople this time around. Still having computer issues but will do what I can.
To those that don't know me and a reminder to those that do, I'm Vicki. I'm 57 years old and have about 68 lbs to lose. I only lost 6 lbs in 2013 so am really hoping to do much better this year.
I am married to Bob and he's just had to get a pacemaker/defibrullator in March, and is still adjusting to having a very weak heart (20% heart strength), so I tend to stress over his health a lot, and when I'm stressing out, I tend to eat more than I should. So I will be working on making healthier food choices over time.

I've got to get in on this chat! I've been with SparkPeople for a few years.. lots of info. Do I follow it? nope. lol I know what has to be done.. maybe encouragement would help? Motivation? seeing a bit of success? Trying to do it for myself this time. I've tried before and simply quit trying. It's almost like my husband is waiting for me to quit. I'm wanting to celebrate every little victory with someone... and it seems he isn't that person. I'm hoping to find a few friends here that are taking it 1 lb at a time!

1 lb a week was been working for me. I'm an obsessive type personality tho... I'm on the scale every 2 days to be sure I'm on the right track.. and I'm learning what works and what doesn't.

My Mom has been on a diet since I can remember... has tried everything and would quit and gain the weight back... She's on another diet now, was Medifast last spring & is full of information on protein powders, Dr Oz, Avocados, the list goes on.

I'm looking to try to stay motivated to lose just 1 little pound per week... for long enough that I can feel successful...and proud of what I've accomplished. As the weather gets warmer, I want to get outside and walk more! Fresh air & fun in the sun... I'm hoping that will boost me to lose a bit more! I have a goal in mind for my birthday in mid-April but I'm hesitant to commit. I don't want to fail.

Has anyone else felt like this when starting out?

Hi my name is April. I am overweight (obese according to the expert's charts),a self-sabotager and quitter. I have a VERY hard time sticking to a plan. I know that I want to reach a goal. I know what it takes to get there. But I always seem to fall off the wagon and give into the demons that want to destroy my efforts.
This week is different because I am committing to myself, my health and my well-being. I will drink 1/2 my weight in water/green tea, exercise and make healthy food choices. I like the one week baby-step goal. I can do this.

APRIL

Hi, this is my 1st day back since March 2013 I have 4 children but since my last child Miss 11 yo in February 2003 I have not been able to drop the weight.. I am inconsistent and really need to work on my plan to keep my focus on. emoticon and Im glad to be back!!!

Hi. I have been working on avoiding the weight issue for a very long time and I just can't come up with enough excuses anymore. I am tired of being fat. I am tired of being unhealthy. Hi I'm Patience I'm from Pennsylvania. I've been the bigger kid all my life. It hasn't always been fun. I have tried many other diets I realize that I need to make a lifestyle commitment but that is so hard sometimes! I found Spark People in February of 2012 but didn't really dig into it until the past month. I am so impressed by the articles that are available! Now I just need to get some help with keeping motivated! Thanks for the chance to post on your board!

Hi. I am in the UK and doing Weightwatchers. I would love to lose more than a pound a week but just one a week consistently will make me very happy! I lost 6.5 pounds after my first week of weightwatching and am confident that I will be checking in on this team with at least a pound off after I've been to the meeting tomorrow.

Up for the challenge loosing at least 1lb per week. I'll post weight here next Friday. Well see how I do--dealing with sick daughter in hospital so food and workouts been compromised last few days

Hi Susan, great attitude. I struggled myself with the same thing when I first joined spark years ago, I wanted to see the weight come off fast and furious and when it didn't I became frustrated and quit. This is a process though and we didn't put this on overnight so we are not going to going to lose it quickly and easily. emoticon

Hi Everyone, my name is Susan and I have come back to Spark after a brief "hiatus". I have started back at the very beginning and have just completed my first week. I set 3 "fast break" goals and I was able to achieve them all each day! They were simple and realistic for me. I have never attempted weight loss from any perspective other than "MUST. LOSE. WEIGHT. NOW."
My "aha" moment was when I realized that I will never succeed with the minds set that as long as I have enough will power, strength, etc I can drop 56 pds in a couple of months. My Long Term goal is to lose 56 pounds by Oct 6, 2014, one year from now. I am striving to lose 1-2 pds per week. For the first time ever, I am not fighting with food, fighting with exercise, fighting with my self. This past week has been life changing.

Hello all!! My name is Nicole and I just joined the team. I am a 30 y/o (well, will be on the 30th this month) single mother, a student, and an amateur blogger.

Hi there. My name is Melissa and I'm frustrated. So tired of trying and not succeeding like I'd like to. I think I've set myself up for success in many ways, but I'm learning that I can't fight this battle on my own. I'm an introvert and so reaching out, going to groups, etc. is not easy for me. My biggest fault? - I do not follow directions well. I posted my introduction in the wrong place.... sorry!

I'm Julie. At 48 I have decided that it's "About time..." to stop leaning on the excuses for gaining weight and make a concious decision to change my lifestyle for the better.

In 1995 I quit smoking and rather very quicky gained 20 pounds. I had also gained about 1 - 2 pounds every year since then. Since January of this year I have lost 23 pounds. BUT in the past 8 weeks - I have lost and gained and lost again the same 1 o4 2 pounds. I need to change things up and need some help with that.

My husband and I are Salvation Army Officers currently appointed to Lake Havasu City AZ.

HI, yesterday I joined this Team. I've been a spark member for a bit of time and then some. I think my page shows I joined in 2007, but I was NEVER active until November of 2009, I with the Spark food tracker and Exercise tracker and TEAM CHALLENGES especially the Bootcamps and Coach Nicole's Videos, I lost over 50 pounds. Then, life began to get really busy. Lost home, moved from city life into the mountains of Colorado. Which I do love and is beautiful. However, on day one after a nice short hike around our new neighborhood, as I tried to get into the house, my left knee dislocated and I was on the floor and on crutches for a week. That took the wind out of my sails. Walking was slow going and I continue to use a cane. I don't trust my knee and "I am afraid to fall again. I am back on the SPark Journey and my goal is to lose 1 - 2 pounds per week until I reach a Healthy BMI. I love little dogs. And, I love Spark People. Hi! My name is Elena and I joined because I'm a socially motivated person and I need to feel challenged! I'm not new to sp but I keep quitting and coming back. I hope that this time I can keep it up! I don't have much to lose (in fact I might not lose anything) but I definitely want to decrease my body fat %. I am super active because I am an aerial circus instructor and performer but I work nights and really inconsistent schedules and I tend to eat whatever is around. I've gone days living on redbull, tequila, and sandwiches from the corner deli. It's pretty bad. I want to challenge myself to track everything everyday, to get proper nutrition, and to stay within my calorie ranges. If anyone has similar goals hit me up, I would love a buddy! emoticon

Hello! My name is Danielle. I have gained 30 pounds over the last year and am struggling to get it off. But I am determined to get it off and keep it off. I am hoping that this team will help push me the extra mile. A pound a week would be awesome. Exercise is easy for me. So if anyone needs help with their motivation to exercise I am your woman.
